Art is in the Air This Fall at the 49th Annual Daytona Beach Halifax Art Festival

Daytona Beach, Florida will soon host the 49th annual Halifax Art Festival. The Festival attracts well over 30,000 visitors annually. This free Festival, open to the public, will take place on November 5 & 6, 2011, in Riverfront Park on historic downtown Beach Street, Daytona Beach, from Orange Avenue to Bay Street.

According to the Halifax Art Festival Press Release there will be approximately 200 juried artist and artisans exhibiting original two-dimensional art, photography, sculpture, jewelry, textiles, ceramics, wood, metal and glass pieces for purchase.

In addition to the beautiful art work, the Festival offers many children’s activities in the Kohl’s Kidz Art Zone. For the animal lover: Sophie’s Circle Pet Area will feature pet adoptions. Sophie’s Circle is a local Food Bank for pets and they will be accepting food donations for homeless cats and dogs all weekend.

The weather is usually quite pleasant this time of year in Daytona Beach. The Halifax Art Festival is a perfect excuse to go outdoors with your entire family. As you walk the streets of Downtown Daytona Beach the scent of kettle corn will fill the air and maybe even your belly. The shops along Beach Street come alive and the river is just feet away from all of the activity.

International Speedway Boulevard, home of the famous Daytona International Speedway, is a road attendees will cross over in their journey. Although the race track is miles away, the hustle and bustle of non-race cars is just outside the confines of the closed off section of Beach Street. However, you will forget about the frenzied “outside” world as you stroll leisurely about the festival. The beauty will be in the art and the artists, the food and the crafts, the smiles and the music, the river and the laughter.

Don’t miss out on the 2nd oldest continual Art festival in the State of Florida!
