Add Elegance to Your Fall Decorations with Hand-Blown Glass Pumpkins

As the dog days of summer end approaches, it’s time to decorate anew to prepare your home for fall. However, instead of carving out real pumpkins and gourds, use an alternative decoration that can add beauty and elegance to your space. Hand-blown glass pumpkins come in different sizes, shapes and colors. Some come in solid colors while many come in a fusion of multiple colors that will complement any style. Pick out colors that will warm up your home, even when the temperature starts to fall.

Nothing excites me more than decorating for fall. Why you may ask? It’s my favorite season of all. The cool, crisp air always keeps me in a good mood, which is why decorating for fall excites me more than decorating for other seasons. Year after year, I take out the usual types of fall decorations that I’ve purchased during the first few years of my married life. They consist of wooden materials, adorned with dried leaves, dried fruits and straws. I carve out pumpkins to use as vases or adorn our front porch. However, through the years, I’ve been changing my decorating style; thanks to numerous moves and numerous visits to designer showrooms and model homes.

Available Colors

In my recent trip to a discount decorating store known to sell designer items at rock bottom prices, I’ve discovered for the first time hand-blown glass pumpkins in an array of colors, which include bright red-orange, indigo blue, dark chocolate brown and sage green. What caught my eyes is a collection of hand-blown glass pumpkins in sage green with specks of red. Each piece comes with a branch in chocolate brown hue, which, with the sage green, will go perfectly with my decor. I’ve gone online and saw more color choices sold by other shops. When choosing, keep in mind your color theme for fall. Since you’ll likely purchase these items during late summer, your imagination may be a bit muddled with summer colors that abound. If you need a little help, bring photos of fall colors to inspire you. Think of colors that can complement earthy tones well.

Available Sizes

I purchased three pieces: one small (3-inch diameter), one medium (6-inch diameter) and one large (8-inch diameter). I usually decorate in odd numbers, which I often do in threes. Buying them in different sizes and grouping them together on a table or fireplace mantel will make their presence more visually appealing.

Choices of Shapes

Hand-blown glass pumpkins come in different shapes. I bought the usual pumpkin shaped ones, but other choices are available as well. I almost bought a gourd, which is taller, but thinner; however, I decided not to since I would not want it on solo and the three together.

Elegant Display

I used the trio as a centerpiece on our dining table. They looked at home with the earthenware that I purchased a few months back. The sage green and chocolate brown complemented the colors of the drapes, napkins and placemats. The tiny specks of red added a pop of color that will warm up the room. Turning on the chandelier above makes the colors sparkle even more. I can’t wait to have company over so that I can show off these new found items that will definitely become good conversation pieces for many years to come.
