A Chopper for a Famous General

The famous general had died and been cremated. There was to be a prestigious ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery for the interment of the ashes. The President was to speak.

On the date scheduled for the ceremony, it was suddenly discovered that there was no plane available that could be used to transport the general’s ashes. It would have represented a monstrous indignity to a great soldier if the ceremony could not go forward as planned. Something had to be done.

At the last minute, a U.S. Marine suggested using a helicopter. One was found ready-to-go and the day was saved. Someone should have thought of using a helicopter sooner for it is well known that the whirlybird gets the urn.
