The August 2011, wedding between celebrity personality Kim Kardashian and New Jersey Nets player Kris Humphries is over. That’s according to a tweet posted by good friend Ryan Seacrest on Twitter that said “Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning. I touched base with her, getting a statement in just a few mins”. Later Seacrest tweeted that Kim said, “sometimes things don’t work out as planned”. The marriage lasted about a month and a half. It may come as no surprise to many that the union lasted as long as it did.
The journey to the extravagant Kardashian – Humphries wedding and the actual wedding itself was broadcast on the E! network during the special “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding”, but were there obvious signs during the show that forecasted a wedding that would not be forever. Here are 7 signs that should have told Kim and Kris to call off their wedding and just remain friends.
1. The title of the E! network wedding special was called “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding”. Need I say more? Was Kim marrying herself?
2. Kim wouldn’t take Kris Humphries last name because she wanted to protect her brand. By being called Kim Kardashian – Humphries fans would have still known who she was. There’s no hiding her image and brand.
3. Kim did most of the wedding planning, evening going as far as picking out the wedding venue without showing and confirming it with Kris first. Luckily Kris ended up liking the venue.
4. Kim let her mom Kris Jenner intrude on too many of her wedding and life decisions instead of consulting with her soon to be husband. I mean who takes their mom with them to the store to register for wedding gifts. Momma Jenner was making more decisions about what items to put on the registry list than Humphries was.
5. Momma Kris Jenner only scheduled rides to the wedding for the Kardashian side of the family, but completely forgot to get rides for the Humphries clan. Momma Jenner obviously didn’t realize there was a groom in the wedding.
6. Kim is more concerned with material things than Kris is. When Kim lost one very expensive diamond earring on a family trip to Bora Bora, she started crying like somebody had tried to kill her. Kris wasn’t sympathetic to the fact that she was crying over a simple earring. Besides, she could have easily bought another pair.
7. Kim has a more serious personality versus Kris’s playful character. Kris is playful, a lot of the time acting like a big kid, while Kim is image conscious and not into all of Kris’s jokes.
