6 Unique Ways to Propose With a Hidden Engagement Ring

Proposing is a special time for both men and women. Make proposing even more memorable and sentimental by proposing with a hidden engagement ring. Consider these six sentimental ways to hide an engagement ring when wanting to surprise the love of your life.

1. Inside a Glitter Easter Egg

Have an Easter egg hunt and save the prized egg for last. Purchase a dozen glitter Easter eggs and fill 11 with chocolate and other candy. The last egg should contain the engagement ring, as well as chocolate and silk rose petals. Wrap the egg containing the engagement ring, then hide it somewhere completely out of sight. Each of the 11 eggs should contain a piece of paper taped to it, telling what number it is and where to find the next egg. For example, egg number 10 might read, “Find me under a pillow.” The Easter eggs have to be found in order. The 11th egg should have directions on where to find the final Easter egg.

2. Inside a Rose Bud

She shouldn’t be expecting to find an engagement ring in her rose bud. Buy a dozen roses in your choice of colors. Be sure that there is at least one rose bud that you can slip the engagement ring inside. Red roses say I love you, while the white bridal rose symbolizes a happy love. Red and white roses together signify unity, making them the perfect color combination for a proposal.

3. Inside a Balloon

Fill six to 12 balloons with small items, such as candy and silk rose petals. Fill one of the balloons with candy, rose petals and the engagement ring. Take the balloons to a store that will inflate them with helium. Purchase a balloon weight to tie the balloons to. Give her the balloons as a gift, then see how long it takes her to realize that one contains a hidden ring. She will have to pop the balloons to get to the candy and ring.

4. Inside Body Butter

Purchase her favorite scent of body butter or surprise her with a scent. When unsure about what scent she may like, go with a light scent that is not too overpowering. Open the jar of body butter, then take out a scoop using a small ice cream scooper. Place the ring in the opening, gently covering it with the scoop of body butter. The body butter will look like luscious ice cream.

5. With a Fortune Cookie Hunt

Purchase a dozen fortune cookies with personalized messages. Create messages and fortunes that are romantic in nature, such as “I love you.” As she gets closer to the last fortune cookie, fortunes could read “I see white in your future.” The last fortune cookie should lead her on a scavenger hunt for a gift. A wrapped gift that includes the engagement ring, should be hidden and waiting for her to find.

6. As a Cupcake Topper

Bake a batch of her favorite cupcakes. Use toy diamond and gem rings as cupcake toppers. Use the engagement ring on one cupcake as a topper. Place all of the cupcakes on a cupcake stand. Place a cupcake with a fake diamond ring on the top of the stand, serving as the centerpiece. Make sure the diamond ring on top looks fake, such as the one pictured. Place the cupcake with the engagement ring in the middle, where it blends in with the others. She will be surprised that you baked for her, and therefore won’t be expecting another surprise.
