- Q: i have had it for probably 4 days. its very very very annoying. it feels itchy mostly on the outside all the way from my vagina to my clit, all along the lips and also just inside the actual vagina - like sort of just around and only a tiny bit inside (like not right inside) the opening.the discharge, only a little bit and mostly in the morning the most. its whitey coloured and sort of tacky. it does NOTsmell disgusting.i have NOT had sex with anyone except my boyfriend for 4 years and he is not itchy.i was on antibiotics for a chest infection, i was on moxicillin, and finished the course 2 days ago. while on the course i was told by the doc my contraceptive pill might not work so to use other protection. we had sex once while i was on the antibiotics and used a condom. we do not usually use a condom, so maybe its an allergic reaction from that? i have never had it before when using condoms, but the condoms may have been in my draw for a year or more.i have been drinking lots of water (as i usually do). i went to a melb cup party on the 3rd of Nov and could have eaten something i dont usually eat. could it be something to do with what i ate?please help its so so so itchySo do you think i should go to the doc? or just assume its thrush and buy some cream?
- A: Yes it very much like thrush. Caused by taking the antibiotics ( they kill the good as well as the bad bacteria ) so resulting in thrush for some women. Its infectious & can be transmitted sexually so it's good you are using condoms so continue until it's cleared up( if you feel like it that is) you can buy an over the counter remedy available from your pharmacy or drugstore called canastan duo or similar containing 1 pill to be taken orally & 1 pessary for insertion into the vagina or cream to insert in same & put around the surrounding area & will help with the itch.Hope it helps.Good luck.ADD:being it's your first time (with infection) maybe you should ring your DR.for advise or speak to your pharmasist/drugist they are there to help too.get some help there's nothing worst than a itchy undercarriage.
