Who Will Win the Raw Elimination Chamber Match?

The Raw Elimination Chamber Match will feature the WWE Champion CM Punk and the five challengers Kofi Kingston, Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, and R-Truth. Before we get into who has the best odds at winning this years Chamber Match. Lets take a look at what the Elimination Chamber is.

The Elimination Chamber is 16 feet high, 36 feet in diameter, consists of over 2 miles of chain, and weighs over 10 tons. Two superstars start the match, while the other four are locked up in a plexiglass chamber. After a certain amount of time has passed one of the chambers will open allowing another superstar to enter the match. A superstar is eliminated by pin fall or submission, the last superstar standing is the winner of the match.

CM Punk is one of the favorites to win this Match. Even though the odds are heavily stacked against him. Up to this point thirteen Elimination Chamber Matches have taken place within the WWE. Ten of those Chamber Matches were for a Championship; However, only nine had a Champion going into the Match. Out of those nine Matches the Champion has only retained three times. The odds may not be in Punk’s favor but maybe the storylines are. Punk could walk away with the Championship depending on what the WWE plans to do at WrestleMania XXVIII. The original plan was to have John Cena and The Rock face each other for the WWE Championship. If that is still the case Punk may lose the Championship to someone like Dolph Ziggler. That way Ziggler could lose the Championship next month to Cena. Punk may remain Champion because he is currently competing with Jericho to see who ‘The Best In The World’ actually is. If the WWE does not have the WWE Championship on the line between Punk and Jericho at WrestleMania are they really proving who is ‘The Best In The World’?

Chris Jericho may have the best odds entering this Match at number six. Jericho earned the sixth entrant by winning the Six Pack Challenge Match on Monday Night Raw. Besides entering sixth, Jericho has won a Chamber Match before. In 2010, Jericho won his first ever Chamber Match when he entered at number four. If Jericho won the Match as the number four entrant he should have no problem winning as the number six entrant, right? Wrong, out of all thirteen Chamber Matches that have taken place. The number six entrant has only won twice. That is the same amount of times the number one entrant has won. The number that has produced the most winners is number five. The fifth entrant has won the Chamber on five different occasions. Those are only numbers giving Jericho a great shot at winning this Match. The WWE may want to take the Championship off Punk before WrestleMania. The best Superstar to give it to would be Jericho. That way Jericho and Punk can still face each other at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship to determine who truly is ‘The Best In The World’. The only problem with giving the Championship to Jericho is by winning the Chamber Match he has already proven that he is ‘The Best In The World’.

Dolph Ziggler will have his chance to ‘Show Off’ inside the Chamber. To much ‘Showing Off’ may cost Ziggler the Match, but he does have a better shot at winning than The Miz, R-Truth, and Kofi Kingston. If the WWE wants Cena to have the Championship at WrestleMania. Ziggler may be a transitional Champion. Ziggler would win this Match but lose the Championship a few weeks later to Cena. This would allow the WWE to have Cena and The Rock face each other for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. It also allows the feud to continue between Jericho and Punk to determine which Superstar is ‘The Best In The World’.

The Miz has been taking some heat from the WWE as of late. The WWE is blaming The Miz for the low Pay-Per-View (PPV) buy rate at Survivor Series. Survivor Series featured The Awesome Truth (The Miz and R-Truth) taking on the team of John Cena and The Rock. In my mind The Miz should not be blamed for the low buy rate. Cena and The Rock are much bigger stars than The Miz, why are they not being blamed?

The Miz is also catching some heat for not catching R-Truth when he dove over the top rope on the February 6 th 2012 episode of Monday Night Raw. The Miz should not take all the blame for this either. As the old saying goes it takes ‘Two To Tango’. With all this backstage heat on The Miz it is very unlikely that he would win this Match.

R-Truth is a long shot to win this Match. Truth has never held the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship. Truth was added to this Match for his unique move set.

Kofi Kingston like R-Truth is a long shot to win this Match. Kingston has never held the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship. Kingston was added to this Match for his unique move set.
