Where to Find a Great Seafood Dinner in Tampa, Florida

Whether you’re visiting Tampa or you’re lucky enough to live here, it’s essential that you enjoy one of the greatest treasures we have to offer: our local seafood. Done right, the perfect seafood dinner won’t just please your palate – it will support the area’s fish industry, which gives locals access to some of the best seafood in the world.

Here’s where to go for the best seafood dishes in Tampa.

The View at CK’s

There’s no better way to catch the views of Tampa than to enjoy a seafood dinner at The View at CK’s. The revolving rooftop restaurant showcases Tampa’s gorgeous sunsets over the Gulf Coast, and the lights from the airport and the famous Howard Franklin Bridge provide plenty of scenery even after the sun dips down over the bay. Whether you crave seafood, or something off their steak or sushi menus, you’ll find original, delicious food. Start with a ginger salad or shrimp mac-n-cheese, followed by the macadamia grouper – fresh from the Gulf and served with a side of asparagus and shrimp, mango relish and pina colada sauce. Heaven on a plate!

The View at CK’s is located at the Marriott Hotel at Tampa International Airport. The View at CK’s is open for dinner from 5-9, Monday through Thursday, and from 5-10 on Friday and Saturday. Call (813) 878-6500.

The Colonnade Restaurant on the Bay

Make reservations early and try for a window seat for the best views… the Colonnade is a fixture in Tampa, and with good reason.

For 70 years, locals have come here for the laid-back atmosphere and great food… particularly the grouper (a locally caught delicacy). Get it here, flame broiled or fried in their famous cereal coating with tart-sweet pineapple sauce. If you want to try real Southern seafood, order their cornmeal crusted crabs with signature cilantro lime tartar sauce. There’s no better way to celebrate the Bay.

Located near the famous Bayshore Boulevard, overlooking Tampa Bay’s famous waterways, the Colonnade is open daily for lunch and dinner.

Mitchell’s Fish Market

You don’t have to question the quality of your seafood when it comes from Mitchell’s. The menu is updated daily to reflect the catch of the day. Check their website for hours and directions. Try the red grouper ceviche and little neck clam chowder, add the Caesar salad with shrimp and you’ve got the perfect light seafood dinner.

Mitchell’s is located at 204 Westshore Plaza, with convenient parking nearby. For reservations, call (813) 289-3663.

Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Restaurant

Expect fantastic grilled seafood and steaks from Roy’s, with a distinctly Asian flair. If you’re there with a good friend who doesn’t mind sharing, try Roy’s Canoe Appetizer for Two (sushi, sashimi, ribs, shrimp cocktail, lobster potstickers – pretty much everything but the kitchen sink).

Located at 4342 W. Boy Scout Boulevard, near the Tampa International Airport, Roy’s is open nightly for dinner. For reservations, call (813) 873-7697.

Whether you’re interested in upscale dining or a casual dinner, Tampa boasts some of the finest seafood around. Just be sure to leave room for dessert.
