The Elder Scrolls four oblivion was a great game one of the best I have played in a long time. The story was decent, but the game was praised more for its great game play. Which I agree with them as the only story I beat was Oblivion Shivering Isles, not the original game. The best parts of Oblivion Shiver Isles will be discussed in the next few paragraphs, and there maybe spoilers.
One of the Main reasons why I enjoyed Oblivion Shivering Isles was because it showed more creativity then the rest of the game. Some may ask what do you mean more creativity? Well for example in the majority of games I play I rarely see a foe such as Jyggalag. From what I understood Jyggalag was turned into the prince of madness and every once in awhile during the grey march Jyggalag comes back to destroy everything in Shivering Isles. Not like traditional something is going to destroy the world story, but the one whom is going to attempt to do so is the one giving you the missions to stop it from happening. Pretty ironic I would say which is the first main reason why I prefer Oblivion Shivering Isles more then the rest of the game.
My second reason why I prefer Oblivion Shivering Isles more then the rest of the game is the characters such as the prince of madness made me laugh countless times with his witty comments and actions. Because of that I always played went straight for Shivering Isles first when they opened the portal there in the game. That and the nice reward but I will get to that a bit later. Oblivion Shivering Isles contained extra dungeons but that is one thing I went to the normal part of Oblivion for Instead of Shivering Isles because I found the dungeons in Shivering Isles a bit dull did not seem like much variety in the dungeons. But other then that I still preferred the content in Oblivion Shivering Isles. In the next paragraph I list my last few reasons why I prefer Oblivion Shivering Isles more then Knights of the Nine.
Oblivion Shivering Isles had a new world with more dungeons, area that added a lot more content to the game. While Knights of the Nine took place in the normal area from Oblivion main content, Oblivion Shivering Isles also had more spells, and armors then Knights of the Nine. I also wished they added more boss like creatures in the main content, and Oblivion Shivering Isles. As it was to far into the game before you would face a boss like enemy. Those are the Main reasons why I preferred Oblivion Shivering Isles more then the rest of the game.
My final conclusion to why Oblivion Shivering Isles was better then the rest of the game was mainly content and story. Because the game as a whole was marvelous game, and is the reason I plan to pre-order Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim. Although Oblivion Shivering Isles was great I hope they still get creative with the game, which if what they say is true they are.
