Week 9 RB Rankings – player profiles and stat projections will be updated throughout the week

Week 9 — QB Rankings — RB Rankings — WR Rankings — TE Rankings — Defense Rankings — Waiver Wire Pickups — Picks & Predictions — Player Injury Updates

1. Arian Foster – Hou = Cle —– With his early season injury issues in the rear-view mirror, Foster is once again a very reliable and must start fantasy football RB heading into week 9. A matchup against a weak Cleveland Browns run defense that has allowed an average of 127 rushing yards per game this season, should have Foster easily topping the 100 rushing yard plateau this week. Anything between 100-200 total yards and 1-2 touchdowns is possible for Foster in this game.

2. Michael Turner – Atl = @Ind —– Fresh off the bye, Turner could rack up a huge stat line this week, as he faces a terrible Colts run defense that is second worst in the NFL, having allowed an average of 144 rushing yards per game, as well as 10 rushing touchdowns through just 8 games this season. Turner could easily be looking at a final stat this week that includes 125-150 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns.

3. Matt Forte – Chi = @Phi —– An absolute yardage beast, Forte should get plenty of work in this game. 100 total yards is nearly a guaranteed bet, and a touchdown is definitely within reach as well.

4. Darren McFadden – Oak = Den —– injury ? — WILL NOT PLAY —– After sustaining a sprained foot in week 7, McFadden was lucky enough to have a bye last week to rest up. Unfortunately even a week off does not make McFadden a guaranteed bet to start or play a lot in this weeks game, but there is plenty of hope for him. If McFadden does in fact see a good amount of touches in this game, he should have no problem topping the 100 yard plateau with a touchdown possible as well.

5. LeSean McCoy – Phi = Chi —– McCoy no doubt carved up the stout Dallas Cowboys run defense last week that had entered the game #1 against the run in the entire NFL. As an absolute yardage beast, McCoy should see plenty of touches this week against another stout run defense in the Chicago Bears. Expect a solid combination of rushing and receiving yards that will likely top the 100 total yard mark in this game.

6. Frank Gore – SF = @Was —– After a slow injury plagued start to the season, Gore has once again taken over as the most reliable and guaranteed fantasy option in the 49ers offense. A matchup against a so-so Redskins run defense, should have Gore once again topping the 100 rushing yard mark this week.

7. Fred Jackson – Buf = NYJ —– With the Jets defensive strength being against the pass and shutting down wide receivers, there is little doubt that the Bills will feed Jackson a heavy dose of touches in this game. Look for Jackson to take full advantage and rack up anything between 100-150 total yards.

8. Steven Jackson – StL = @Ari —– The Steven Jackson of old was back in Pro-Bowl form last week, as he was an absolute wrecking ball running over the New Orleans Saints defense. A matchup against an Arizona Cardinals defense that has allowed a league worst 11 rushing touchdowns already this season, as well as allowing an average of 113 rushing yards per game, should be music to the ears of Steven Jackson fantasy owners this week. Roll with it!

9. Ray Rice – Bal = @Pit —– Very tough matchup for Rice this week, but he is always a threat to tally rushing and receiving yards. So while a TD will likely be very had to come by this week, his 100 total yard potential makes him a reliable option in fantasy lineups no matter who the opponent.

10. Beanie Wells – Ari = StL —– injury ? —– Absolutely love the matchup for Wells this week, as he faces easily the worst run defense in the entire NFL. Unfortunately the nagging knee injury for Wells is problematic, but after playing effectively against a very tough Baltimore Ravens defense last week, there is plenty of hope that Wells will be able to be healthy enough to do some major damage in this game. In fact if Beanie Wells was completely healthy for this game, I would have no problem ranking him as a top 5 RB this week with huge stat upside in the range of 100-150 rushing yards and 1-2 touchdowns.

11. Michael Bush – Oak = Den – 51% —– STARTING —– After Darren McFadden suffered a sprained foot in week 7’s game, Bush easily took over and did his thing. With McFadden still no guarantee to be back and healthy in week 9, there is a very realistic possibility that Bush will rack up at least 10 touches in this game even if McFadden plays, and if McFadden doesn’t play, then Bush could easily be looking at 100 plus rushing yards and 1 touchdown this week. If McFadden is ruled out for this game, then Bush should be ranked as a top 20 RB option this week.

12. Darren Sproles – NO = TB

13. DeMarco Murray – Dal = Sea

14. Shonn Green – NYJ = @Buf

15. Cedric Benson – Cin = @Ten

16. Rashard Mendenhall – Pit = Bal

17. Jackie Battle – KC = Mia – 57% —– Battle continues to be the Chiefs feature back and should continue his roll against the Dolphins this week as well.

18. Ahmad Bradshaw – NYG = @NE —– injury ? broken foot – WILL NOT PLAY —– With all the injury questions surrounding Bradshaw, the one thing that is certain is that he does indeed have a broken bone in his foot. How this affects him and his playing time over the remainder of the season is anyone’s guess right now. But if you are team relying on him in your weekly starting lineup, you better go pick up a backup RB option just in case.

19. Brandon Jacobs – NYG = @NE – 59% —– STARTING —– Ahmad Bradshaw’s foot injury obviously plays the major factor in what Jacobs’ roll will be in week 9’s game, but if Bradshaw is even limited at all in this game, which it is very likely he will be, then Jacobs could easily snatch up 10-15 touches this week while also offering goal line vulture TD potential.

20. Chris Johnson – Ten = Cin

21. Daniel Thomas – Mia = @KC – 64% —– injury ? —– Thomas missed last weeks game with a hamstring injury, and Reggie Bush definitely took full advantage and picked up the slack for the Dolphins offensive attack. However I do believe that if Thomas is healthy enough to play this week, then he should take over the starting job and receive the majority of the carries in this game.

23. Reggie Bush – Mia = @KC – 56% —– With Daniel Thomas out of last weeks game, Bush finally stepped up his game and racked up a respectable 103 rushing yards on just 15 carries. If Thomas misses this weeks game as well, then Bush is a solid bet to once again top 100 total yard mark in this game.

23. Ryan Mathews – SD = GB —– injury ? groin

24. Marshawn Lynch – Sea = @Dal

25. LeGarrette Blount – TB = @NO —– injury ?

26. Chris Ogbonnaya – Cle = @Hou – 1% —– When starter Montario Hardesty went down with a calf injury in last weeks game, Ogbonnaya was next in line at RB for the Browns. If both Peyton Hillis and Hardesty are not healthy and ready to play in week 9’s game, then Ogbonnaya should be the Browns starting RB this week.

27. James Starks – GB = @SD

28. Knowshon Moreno – Den = @Oak

29. Pierre Thomas – NO = TB

30. Ryan Torain – Was = SF

31. Mike Tolbert – SD = GB —– injury ?

32. Javon Ringer – Ten = Cin – 7% —– Whether the Titans are just trying to light a fire under Chris Johnson or they really are serious about giving Ringer touches, one thing seems like a good bet in week 9, and that is that Ringer should see a good amount of touches this week. If you think the Titans are going to hand Ringer the starting RB job you would be crazy, but a time share in the Titans backfield is definitely possible over the remainder of the season.

33. BenJarvus Green-Ellis – NE = NYG —– injury ?

34. Ryan Grant – GB = @SD

35. Peyton Hillis – Cle = @Hou —– injury ? – WILL NOT PLAY

36. Mark Ingram – NO = TB —– injury ?
37. Delone Carter – Ind = Atl
38. Joseph Addai – Ind = Atl —– injury ?
39. Roy Helu – Was = SF
40. Ben Tate – Hou = Cle

41. Willis McGahee – Den = @Oak —– injury ?
42. Marion Barber – Chi = @Phi
43. Alphonso Smith – Ari = StL
44. Bernard Scott – Cin = @Ten
45. LaDainian Tomlinson – NYJ = @Buf

46. Thomas Jones – KC = Mia
47. Donald Brown – Ind = Atl
48. Kendall Hunter – SF = @Was

49. Lance Ball – Den = @Oak – 1% —– The Broncos offense is a mess right now, but Ball has been relatively productive when given the opportunity to get his hands on the ball. At just 1% owned, Ball is an excellent deep league pickup option if you need a spot starter for this week.

50. Carnell Williams – StL = @Ari

51. Dexter McCluster – KC = Mia
52. Kregg Lumpkin – TB = @NO
53. Danny Woodhead – NE = NYG
54. Isaac Redman – Pit = Bal
55. Leon Washington – Sea = @Dal

56. CJ Spiller – Buf = NYJ
57. Ronnie Brown – Phi = Chi
58. Chris Ivory – NO = TB
59. John Kuhn – GB = @SD
60. Jonathan Dwyer – Pit = Bal

61. Joe McKnight – NYJ = @Buf
62. LaRod Stephens-Howling – Ari = StL
63. Le’Ron McClain – KC = Mia
64. Mewelde Moore – Pit = Bal
65. Ricky Williams – Bal = @Pit

66. Stevan Ridley – NE = NYG
67. Jacquizz Rodgers – Atl = @Ind
68. Jason Snelling – Atl = @Ind
69. Steve Slaton – Mia = @KC
70. Justin Forsett – Sea = @Dal

71. Jerious Norwood – StL = @Ari
72. Dion Lewis – Phi = Chi
73. Taiwan Jones – Oak = Den
74. Johnny White – Buf = NYJ
75. Chester Taylor – Ari = StL

76. Felix Jones – Dal = Sea —– injury ? unlikely to play
77. Montario Hardesty – Cle = @Hou —– injury ? unlikely to play
