Ways to Display Themed Wall Art

Collections of wall art reveal personal preference and interests, and they can become a part of the decorating scheme. When properly displayed they can turn a drab room into a fab space with visual interest and dramatic appeal. However, when simply plastered across walls by the dozen, they can be anything but impressive. Use these unique and tasteful ways to display a collection of themed wall art, and transform any room into a makeshift gallery and a stylish part of the home.

Highlight a Collection of Plates with a Shelf

Decorative plates are a form of wall art, and when thoughtfully displayed they can look outstanding. Do not cover an entire wall with this type of art. Instead, select several high-quality themed pieces, and space them the same distance apart above a shelf of the same width as the collection. Place the shelf several inches below the bottom plate, and use it to display trinkets, teacups or other tabletop art that coordinates with the themed display. For example, floral plates can be paired with a small floral arrangement of the same type, teacups that match or coordinate with the plates and more.

Use Display Cubes to Create Wall Art with Themed Trinkets

Wall art can be created using tabletop trinkets and wall mountable display cubes. Mount display boxes on an section of wall. Arrange them together to create an interesting outline, or space them evenly apart. Set up a themed wall display. For example, fill part of a wall with display boxes containing red glassware, small red patterned plates, red wine glasses and more. When not overdone, this type of dimensional themed art can look fantastic.

Frame a Piece of Furniture with Eye-Catching Items

Many people hang artwork at eye-level and in straight lines. Do something unique and bold, and frame the top of a favorite piece of furniture using themed paintings. Create an eye-catching border around the top of an upholstered chair, loveseat or a stylish desk. Contrary to popular belief, the center of a work of art does not always have to remain level with the eye to make a striking impression.
