Time to Give Up the Golden “Green” Dream

I couldn’t have said it better myself. Even an uber liberal San Francisco rag postulates the questionable side of “green.” It’s the domain of chlorophyllic plants, not the way to create jobs.

Green companies?
A piece in the San Francisco Chronicle chronicles Obama’s touting of “green” jobs in the Golden State. Solyndra, a California company, manufactures solar panels. Little more than a year ago, Obama backed it with a $535 million federal loan guarantee. Today, the company lays off its 1,100 Fremont, California, workers and declares bankruptcy.

Green jobs?
Today, the country hears Obama talk on jobs. This, after the same man gave your money and mine to a “green” California company that never made ten cents on its own. One of many. It’s time give up the ‘green’ ghost and call a spade a spade. “Green” is no more creating jobs than the “green” jihadists are saving the earth. Yet, the charismatic leader who still enchants 40% of the people with his failures will stand before us and speak “green” some more.

Green sector?
Actually, the “greens” account for no more than 2% of all American jobs. Nor is the sector growing, not that anything is in the economy these days. But, it is flat out outrageous when our federal government forks over that many millions in taxpayer dollars to fund a concern that has nowhere to go but to failure.

Green promises?
Still, our president and his minions insulate themselves with “green.” These are the jobs of the future, well, what about now? Where are you sitting, Mr. President, that makes you think this way? We would do better by planting a tree than implanting “green” policy. People are fed up by the spoon-feeding of “green” under the promise of jobs.

Green is good?
So, you can recycle until the cows come home, buy organic until you’re green in the face, or cover your property with manure and windmills until the neighbors throw your smelly self out. But take it from one of your own dyed-in-the-green Democrats, California Representative, Maxine Walters, “green jobs have been about a lot of talk, and not a lot has been happening on that.”

And take what the President says tonight with a grain of green salt.
