Tim Tebow to Start for Denver Broncos Against Oakland Raiders

Tim Tebow will remain the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos in Week 9. The news just came out that he will keep the starting role, despite a rough game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

It looks as though Tim Tebow has the full support of his head coach, which could do a lot towards building his confidence. That might be needed, especially since he got sacked 13 times in the last two games against the Lions and Miami Dolphins. The game against Miami was an overtime win, but this weekend’s 45-10 loss to the Lions was tough for some fans to take.

In the three weeks that he has seen action at quarterback, Tebow has connected on 35-of-76 passes for 412 yards. That’s only a completion percentage of 46.1, and not anywhere near where he needs to get as a starter. He has four touchdowns, an interception, and two fumbles in that same span for a quarterback rating of 75.1. On the ground is where Tebow is doing more damage, as he has 159 yards in 26 attempts. That is what makes him a practical weapon for the Broncos, and someone who could continue to give fans hope of wins.

The loss against Detroit dropped the team to 2-5 on the season, but still within distance of catching the San Diego Chargers with a good win streak. While even the die-hard Broncos fans probably don’t think that’s possible, the team is ready to give Tim Tebow the chance at keeping the starting quarterback position.
