We have all heard that eating an apple a day will keep the doctor away, but why is that. Apples like many fruits have many health benefits and are one of the best snacks you can eat. Apples are so good they have replaced many fast food places that serve fries to kids. Apples come in many colors, red, green, yellow, and dark red all which are good and healthy. Apples can be eaten with the skin on and with the skin off. In this article I will describe why apples are so healthy for our bodies.

Apples come from the apple tree and are grown in cool weather. Apples come in different colors red, green, yellow and dark red. Apples have skin on them which can be peeled off or eaten with the apple. In regards to apple skin I will discuss what should be done about the skin. Apples naturally have a clear coating on them to keep them fresh, when apples are being shipped to stores they have wax applied to them to keep them clean and looking fresh.

This wax that is applied to apples is not healthy for consumption at all. So if you’re going to eat an apple with the skin on it must be cleaned properly. The apple should be washed with warm water and can be cleaned with baking soda. Wash the apple thoroughly all over before eating the apple. One more factor of eating an apple with the skin is to make sure you chew the apple properly so the skin gets all soft. This way your body will be able to digest the apple skin better. Most of the nutrients and benefits of the apple are stored in the skin so it would be better to eat the apple with the skin.

Apples can be juiced and are sold worldwide known as apple juice. Drinking apple juice is a healthy drink that will provide your body with many nutrients. Apples are now given to kids instead of French fries that’s how healthy apples are. Apples provide bone health; prevent cancer, asthma, good for the heart, lowers cholesterol, and full of fiber. Fiber is one of the biggest health benefits of apples. The fiber in apples can help with digestive health constipation, and weight problems. Pectin is one of the main nutrients in apples which help with lowering cholesterol. Apples are loaded with more antioxidants and nutrients which provide overall good health.

Lastly apples and apple juice are great snacks and good for our health. Apples though are also great for many dishes that people enjoy each day. Apples are used in apple sauce which is a great snack, apple pie which is a taste dessert, and many other treats. So apples are a healthy and fun fruit that we can enjoy all the time.

Eating apples will help us stay healthy and give us a tasty snack in the process. So have an apple a day, be on your way, and call the doctor another day.
