The Five Worst Family Holidays

This is because there is more stress involved, you have to travel a considerable amount, which is difficult when you have a family, and you have to perform more tasks on top of your daily routine. When siting specific locations on your holidays you are going to experience some stress where you probably just wish you had left all the children behind.

Mexico
Although there are some amazing sights to see in Mexico, including Mayan ruins, this is not a great holiday for children. To start, for younger children the flight times are probably a little bit too long. Yes, for an international trip, this does not compare with other options. However there are many downsides to this when traveling with the family to the holiday. To start, unless you are staying at an all inclusive resort that allows children, Mexico can be a rather dangerous. You can’t drink the water in Mexico and you must have bottled water, plus it is possible to become sick with all the parasites in the region, so you need to have plenty of antibiotics on hand. You don’t want to take care of a sick child your during your entire stay in the country, so it is best to come back here whey they are older.

Anyplace Cold
Sure, the winter is fun, and children love to play in the snow. However, consider all of the extra winter items you must pack for you fun filled adventure. There is a lot to think about, and if your children are not old enough to pack and take care of their own items, you are going to find it extremely difficult to pack for them and yourself. On top of this, you might receive a considerable amount of complaining, because once the children are done playing, they probably want to go inside, and frankly that isn’t always an option. It is a good idea to stere clear of the cold locations until everyone is a little older.

Africa
There is just so much that goes into an African adventure and trip that taking your entire family is just not going to be worth it. To start, traveling with a large family is going to be extremely expensive. After this, you need special shots to be allowed to travel, and your younger children probably don’t want to receive the shots (and honestly, you probably don’t want to receive the shots either). You also are not able to drink the water in Africa, no matter where you are visiting, so you must always drink bottled water. On top of this, most areas in Africa are not safe for children to visit.

Australia
There is nothing wrong, per say, with Australia as a holiday destination for you and your family. However, for young children, sitting on a plane that is going to last at least 16 hours, this is just not a possibility. An entire day spend sitting on a plane, with nothing to do but watch the television monitor in front of them, read and sleep. Plus the country is rather expensive to visit. Do yourself a favor and plane the trip when they are all older and can entertain themselves.

Close to Home
Sometimes it is best to stay closer to home, less travel and that normally means less hassle from your children. For me that will mean checking out some of the local beaches and attractions, next year I am going to on holidays in Norfolk. I would advise this for most young families check out you local beach resorts or national parks and avoid long distance travel.
