Thanksgiving Weekend Events for the Whole Family in Rochester, Minnesota

Looking to get yourself and your family into the holiday spirit this year? People of all ages can enjoy an array of unique indoor and outdoor holiday events this Thanksgiving weekend in Rochester.

Festival Of Trees
From Tuesday, November 22nd through Sunday, November 27th, check out the Hiawatha Homes Annual Festival of Trees at the Mayo Civic Center. The event kicks off with an opening night dinner gala from 7-10pm on Tuesday. For $50 per person, you can have dinner among the magnificent Christmas trees that will be on display at the Civic Center. There will also be a cash bar, live auction and live entertainment. Wednesday, November 23rd is senior citizen day. Seniors can enjoy a soup luncheon while live music is performed on the main stage. After the luncheon, dessert will be served while attendees can enjoy the Senior Style Show, showcasing the latest fashions for seniors. Friday, November 25th is Kids Day at the Festival. There will be carnival games, crafts, a bouncy tiger, and even Santa Claus will be there to talk to the children and pose for pictures. Friday night will be a dance party, featuring a DJ and some holiday treats (reservations are required for the dance party). Saturday will feature ginger bread cookie decorating for the whole family. Each day of the festival, there will be a holiday cafe serving holiday treats, and a gift shop with a variety of unique holiday items. The festival is open Wednesday through Sunday, 11am – 7pm, and Sunday 11am – 4pm. Daily admission for adults is $5, Seniors are $4 and Children are $3. Bluff Valley Light Show
For those who enjoy the outdoors, there will be an LED Light Display at Bluff Valley Campground in Zumbro Falls. The light show features over 500,000 LED lights, including animated hockey players, animals and golf swings. There will also be wagon rides, glow in the dark golf, and performances by local high school pop choirs. The light show runs from November 23rd through December 7th, 5-11pm on Friday and Saturday and 5-10pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. George Winston
On Sunday, November 27th, George Winston will be performing a special Solo Piano Holiday Concert at Mayo Civic Center Presentation Hall. The show starts at 7:30 and tickets are $29 and $33. Mayowood Mansion Tour
And if your weekend isn’t complete without touring a mansion, you can visit Mayowood Mansion, decorated for the holidays by local individuals and businesses. For daytime tours, arrive 45 minutes ahead of the tour time at the History Center of Olmsted County. Evening tours are at 6:30, and you must arrive at Mayowood Mansion by 6:15.
