Terrell Owens: Oakland Raiders and Tennessee Titans Likely to Sign Free Agent On?

Free agent wide receiver, Terrell Owens, is ready to play in week 7 of the NFL season, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. Just days ago it was looking like the Tennessee Titans was looking at Owens to sign on with their team. ESPN is speculating that although the Oakland Raiders are a possibility for Terrell to sign on with, it’s not likely. NFL.com reports on the status of the WR in its Friday post.

Rosenhaus says his Owens has fully recovered from his torn ACL and the wide receiver has been training in California. He’s overcome the alleged overdose episode that occurred a few weeks back. ESPN wrote that a team such as the Oakland Raiders wouldn’t risk taking Owens on because they have enough young talent to not concern themselves with him. In addition to that, the free agent, who turns 38 in December, has a recent history of injury and problematic issues. The question is, will an NFL team want to take him on in spite of recovering from his ACL?

Titans coach Mike Munchak said he would consider signing Owens on if he’s healthy enough.

“I just watched him work out. He’s great. He’s ready to rock,” Rosenhaus said of Owens. “He’s been cleared, and we don’t anticipate him having any problems being medically cleared by teams.”

Besides the Raider and Titans, Terrell Owens has been reportedly eyed by the San Francisco 49ers. He spent the season playing for Cincinnati last year.
