Review of Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Mint Apple

Mint green and robin’s egg nail polishes were great spring and summer trends this year, but there’s no reason we can’t bring them into the fall season for a pop of color. I decided to pick up the Sinful Colors polish in Mint Apple.

Mint Apple is not the typical trendy color. It is almost Robin’s eggs blue, but does lean more on the teal side, so it is a very beautiful color, regardless of trends. This color even has little sparkles in it. It seems like the majority of the sparkles are silver, though some have multicolor flecks on them. The sparkle in this nail polish is not chunky at all, which is really great. Overall, this nail polish is a creamy color that has very fine shimmers in it. It is very beautiful on the nails because the color isn’t frosty, yet reflects light really beautifully.

However, I do have to say that this nail polish’s finish isn’t incredibly shiny, so it will definitely need a top coat to have some high shine on the nails. Another reason you would need a top coat with this nail polish is that it will fade from your nails pretty fast. I find that when I wear this nail polish, the ends of my nails tend to wear off first, and it’s annoying to have little white spaces at the tops of your nails. Otherwise, the wear time of this nail polish is pretty good. It doesn’t chip at all.

One thing I was disappointed by was how sheer it was. I have had other Sinful Colors nail polishes that are incredibly pigmented, and I must say that this one is definitely less pigmented. It needed two to three coats to have an opaque layer on the nails. This was incredibly disappointing because I don’t have the patience to paint several layers on my nails and wait for them to dry in between.

I would definitely recommend the rest of the Sinful Colors nail polishes, but I don’t recommend this one. If you can find a similar color in a different line, definitely buy that one instead.
