Repurposed Button Bouquet Instructions

Create a one-of-a-kind button bouquet from repurposed sewing buttons. The plethora of sizes, shapes and colors of buttons create a bouquet that is pleasing to the eye. Don’t stop with just recycling buttons! Recycle jars to use as the vase. This is the perfect craft project to add color to any room.

Make the button bouquet from various sizes of buttons. Think about the overall appearance then select a color theme for the bouquet. Add artificial leaves to the bouquet for added texture. Layer several sized buttons on a single stem to create a three-dimensional looking flower.

Things You’ll Need:

Buttons
Floral wire
Needle nose pliers
Vase
Optional – Floral foam and floral tape

Instructions:

Step 1 – Insert the end of the floral wire through the hole on the button. Push the wire approximately 2-inches past the hole.

Step 2 – Bend the wire with the needle nose pliers into an upside down U shape. Push the bent end through the opposite hole on the button.

Step 3 – Twist the end of the wire around the stem to secure the button in place.

Step 4 – Cut the stem to the desired length.

Step 5 – Repeat the process until the desired number of button flowers is reached.

When adding several buttons to one flower, insert the end of the wire through each bottom arranged in the order desired. Push the end of the wire 2- to 3-inches past the grouping. Bend the end of the wire in an upside down U shape. Work the bent end through the stack of buttons. Twist the bent end around the stem to secure.
