Paintings on the Wall

When they were small,
my sons made crayon drawings on the wall.
We got angry and washed them off the wall.
Now they are grown and don’t draw much at all.
I sure miss the art …
I’d have kept part …
if only they had not put them on the wall.
Now I’m done out of a treasure …
missed comments without measure …
on my sons talent and such
I didn’t ask much …
just don’t put your art on the wall.
Put it on paper … that’s all.
