Pack a Carry On, Save Money and Time

With some of the specials that Southwest Airlines and Air Tran have been running, it’s often cheapest to fly to cities to see your favorite musicians. With gas at almost $4.00 a gallon, a $120 round trip flight is easily the best option. Once you arrive, jump on a bus or grab a taxi and head into town. You don’t need a car to get to places.

Another way you can cut costs is to pack a carry-on only for the trip. Some people are intimidated by this due to all the “confusing rules” of carry-on travel. The truth is you just have to remember 3-1-1.

You can take most identified liquids on a plane if it fits in a 3.4 ounce (or less) bottle. The liquids must be in a clear, quart-sized bag. Each person can have one of these bags in their carry-on.

Be smart and only take the liquids you need to survive. Visit Walgreens, CVS or Rite Aid and pick up travel sized containers of your shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream or body wash. Not only does this assure you have the correct size, but they’re so cute!

Keep these items together in a clear bag all the time. I travel a lot, so I find it helpful that I can just grab my bag, throw it in the carry-on and leave. I also don’t have to forget about leaving my toiletries I need behind.
