My Top Five Video Game Heroes of All Time

Great video games have great heroes leading the way. Here are my Top Five Video Game Heroes of all time.

Top All-Time Video Game Hero #5: Pitfall Harry, Pitfall! (1982)

Pitfall! was the second best-selling video game on the Atari 2600. It was an innovative game that showed just how good a side-scrolling video game could be. At the heart of the game was the main character, Pitfall Harry. Harry carefully navigated through a jungle. He avoided alligators, snakes and scorpions. Harry dodged swamps and holes. Top All-Time Video Game Hero #4: Lara Croft, Tomb Raider Series (1996 – present)

The Tomb Raider video game was released in 1996. Since then it has become one of the best-selling video games of all time. There have been several sequels to the highly successful game. Croft is the lone female video game hero on this list. But do not take her lightly. She is a tough character who searches for rare artifacts. On her expeditions, she faces larger than life enemies. Top All-Time Video Game Hero #3: Master Chief, Halo Series (2001 – present)

Master Chief is the hero of the immensely popular first-person shooter Halo. Master Chief takes players on an intergalactic adventure. He has an array of weapons, items and vehicles at his disposal. In story mode, players become Master Chief and play the game through his eyes. In multiplayer mode, multiple players can play alongside or against each other. In the 1980s, Pac-Man Fever was rampant in the United States. It was a tremendously popular game that became a part of American culture. Pac-Man, a chomping yellow circle, made his way around mazes, ate dots and consumed power -pellets. Pac-Man had to avoiding the four colorful ghosts Inky, Pinky, Blinky and Clyde. The top video game hero of all time goes to the incredible Mario. Mario is not only a video game hero; he is also the mascot for the Nintendo video game company. Mario first appeared in 1981 as the hero in Donkey Kong. Since then, he has appeared in numerous Nintendo video games. Mario is a character you can root for.
