Movie Review: Breaking Dawn Part 1 (The Twilight Saga)

Well I finally got to go see Breaking Dawn. I normally only go to the movies once or twice a year and The Twilight Saga movies are ones I always go and see. This time we went about a week after opening day, I don’t care to go when it’s super crowded.

I will admit here and now to loving Twilight, but I much prefer the books. To be really, really honest, I didn’t even like the first Twilight movie at all, the second one was OK and the third was the better of the three.

All right…Breaking Dawn!

Things I liked:

Breaking Dawn was by far the best of The Twilight Saga movies, mostly I think this was because the acting was so much better. Kristen Stewart really surprised me with this one, her performance was way better in Breaking Dawn than the others. I think she has probably just grown into Bella’s character.

The wedding was beautifully done and I loved how we got to see everyone’s reactions to the invitations. My favorite part of the wedding scene was when they were doing speeches about Bella and Edward. It was really funny, especially Charlie’s speech.

This may sound strange, but I feel like they did a wonderful job with making Bella look like total crap while she was pregnant. I was really curious about how they were going to pull off the pregnancy and I think it went really well.

I totally loved the imprinting scene; it was just as I imagined it when I was reading the book.

Things I didn’t like:

All right, here we go we go. Maybe it’s just me, but the wolves didn’t look as pretty and magical as they did in the previous movies. They looked smaller and meaner; I like them the other way better.

I honestly don’t have as much to complain about with Breaking Dawn as the previous movies, so either I just don’t have that much I didn’t like or I don’t remember what it was.

I know it had to be done, but the breaking bones before Bella has the baby bothered me, I guess it was a good effect and made the movie good, but…ugh, it made me cover my eyes. If you’ve seen it you know what I’m talking about. Ugh!

One thing though, not much action, so I’m glad that I went with my friend and not my husband. If wouldn’t have liked it at all.

All in all, I liked it and I’m glad I spent the money to go see it in the theater.
