Men Do Read Dorothy!

I feel like Dorothy in OZ when I say this out-loud. Men do read, men do read and finally men do read. Every day I read an article about how men are visual creatures. Only responding to what they see and what they like. That being said, I have to agree to a small portion of that. In the Internet dating world, the photo is the bait normally. And depending on the fish you would like to catch a photo does bring them to the hook. But after 20,000 views and 3000 emails sent to my profile. I now subscribe to “bring them into your world with the first three sentences. Or actually, the first 32 words that they see next to your photo. I have had four primary about me stories. Each one has been different and original. None of them contained the ever popular over used word (I), repeated and followed with like, love and want. This last one is only three weeks old and is bringing in 30-40 different responses on a daily basis. All I did was imagine myself in a relationship and the words flooded the page. I wanted the man reading it to imagine with me. I will share that I am looking for a man who is still working, not retired, has an education, wears a suit, devoted father, youthful looking, romantic, sensual, spontaneous, and looking for a committed relationship. Here is the last one I call ” look with me at us.”

I invite you to look with me into the future. Could it possible that you and I will be looking back several months from now and smiling and grinning about the little match box our pictures and stories of us held and thought? They are nothing compared to the ones we have now on our phones of each other, laughing, together, silly and just adoringly us. Mine, in the mirror trying to put the finish touch of make up (click) when we were on our way to that annual function you usually hate to go to. You had asked me if I was almost ready, and I said 5 minutes and you laughed at me.

That morning you sent me (click) one of you trying on two shirts and asked which one. I told you the crisp white with that tie I love on you and that I wished we were together at the moment because, I missed you. You are so handsome in a suit and tie. I sometimes blink twice to make sure its real. Or, are they the ones we have of each other on our desks (click) that we glance at during work just because. Finally that night, as we got ready, I fixed your collar and you zipped the back of my dress. I said, lets go and dance and enjoy, but we are leaving early and when I grab you and whisper in your ear, well, you remember what I said. When we walked in everyone glanced at us and especially at you. Because, you had this grin of happy on your face they hadn’t seen in a long time I was a little nervous and you knew it and you touched my cheek and kissed me lightly!

I continued with the imaginay senerio that the reader and I might experience. It described the small interactions between two people in a relationship. It brought my reader into my world. Men are truly romantic souls at heart. The ages of respondants are as young as 29 and all the way to 77.

The emails have been over whelming to say the least again. Even men who have no interest in meeting me or not even close to my age are responding with accolades and a sweet thank you. They appreciate the fact the a woman can still find romance, embrace her femininity and be strong in character. As my journey continues, I still search for that man of my future. However, learning seems to be my journey in the pond of on-line dating in 2012.
