La Quinta Inn and Suites in Corsicana, Texas

Back in August, I had the pleasure of staying at the La Quinta Inn and Suites in Corsicana, Texas. I was moving to the area, and I had to spend several days in the hotel while I was waiting for my furniture and items to be delivered from California. The service was top notch. The staff was unbelievably nice. The price was an average of $72 a night and it is a pet friendly hotel. If you ever have the opportunity to spend a night in Corsicana, Texas you should definitely stay at the La Quinta Inn and Suites.

Price: I ended up staying at the La Quinta Inn and Suites for four nights. I booked my room through Expedia.com daily (since I didn’t know when my items were to arrive) and the room cost $75 for two nights and $69 for the other two nights. It might have been cheaper if I could have booked all four days together, but I had no way of knowing when my furniture would arrive. The La Quinta Inn was considerable cheaper than the Holiday Inn in Corsicana, but my father stayed at The Hampton hotel in town for about the same price during the same time, and the Hampton is a much nicer hotel. The reason I continued to stay in the La Quinta Inn is that they are pet friendly and the Hampton was not. Also, La Quinta Inn was the only hotel that I stayed in during my move across country that did not charge me extra for the pets. There was no pet deposit and no daily pet charge. My kitties stayed for free.

Location: The location was convenient for on and off freeway access. It is right off an exit for I-45. However, it is way at one end of the town, which makes it not as convenient for getting around the town of Corsicana. But since Corsicana is a smaller town, so it is really not that bad. The access road to the hotel was a little hard to find. It a small road next to a car dealership, and is very close to stoplight which make it hard to turn in and out of, and finding it at night can be rather difficult.

The Room: The room was large enough for my cats to have plenty of room to roam about. It was decorated with some abstract art and had burgundy carpet. The carpet did have a couple of stains on it. The bed was very comfortable and the comforters were gold colored and very thick. The beds also boasted a nice weight cover that was different that the usual cheap velour blanket, and I liked much better than the typical hotel velour blanket. The bedroom had a nice big desk. The furniture looked nice and didn’t look overly worn. The bathroom had a faux marble finish and the bathroom itself was very nice. The shower was a tub/shower combo, which was nice and the showerhead was tall and I could actually fit underneath it. The shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The room had a nice cabinet that housed the microwave and fridge. It was nice to have the fridge and microwave since we ended up staying there several days. The room also had a nightstand, a flat screen TV, free wireless Internet, iron and ironing board, a real closet (that closed thereby keeping cats out and clothes fur free), and a good hairdryer. Overall, I was very satisfied with my room and didn’t mind staying in it for four days.

Other Amenities: They have an indoor pool, a spa tub, and fitness facilities. They also had a laundry room (key if you are staying for several days). They also have a business center and conference rooms. They also had free Internet and complimentary breakfast. I believe I missed breakfast everyday and we didn’t use any of the other amenities except for the laundry, which was pretty decent if I recall correctly. I think they had 1 or 2 washers and dryers located on the first floor.

Other Information: They staff here was very friendly, and they are what made my stressful time of moving a little less stressful. They did not mind that I had to book another day through Expedia every day, which meant they had to check me out and back in every day. The lady at the front desk was very nice about it. They were very respectful of my cats. They did not clean our room because they did not want to upset the kitties or let one escape. One desk clerk was very concerned when I went to ask for towels when we ran out since our room wasn’t being cleaned. He wondered why our room wasn’t being cleaned, and I told him because of the cats. He initially seemed very upset that we might not be getting the proper service, but once he understood the situation he was very quick to give me the replacement towels I needed with no trouble. I think out of the four hotels that I stayed at during my moved from California to Texas they were one of the best. If I didn’t live here now, I would definitely stay there again. I will be definitely recommending the La Quinta Inn and Suites to all my family and friends who want to visit but don’t want to stay with the cats and I.
