We’ve heard the expression “wolf in sheep’s clothing”. It is the person who pretends to be one thing, and turns out to be another. Rick Perry may be the prime example for this, as the Republican party becomes enamored with his charming personality, and his sharp anti-government stance. But, as with any wolf in sheep’s clothing, you have to uncover it before they are truly known.
Rick Perry used to be a Democrat. Why does that matter? People have the right to change political parties! But it seems that Mr. Perry has simply adjusted his views in order to win his elections. How can you sit down with Al Gore one day1 and back his wild and nutty liberal views, and the next day win the state where George Bush was king (well Bush, that’s a different wolf story)?
He speaks with such veracity about Social Security being a “Ponzi scheme”, and the next day has to tone down his rhetoric to appease his followers.2 He had began an initiative to vaccinate young girls with the still controversial HPV vaccine in the state of Texas.3 How about illegal immigration? 4 Sheep follow so easily.
I am a conservative. I believe as a conservative these days, it is imperative that we turn over every stone, and not let wolves enter into the sheepfold. Rick Perry may seem to be a perfect Republican to his sheep, but there could be a terrible wolf underneath. May God bless America, and may we all take time to do our part to study and to vote in what we truly believe in.
