As a freelance writer who has to promote her articles to others, I try to keep up with social networks that are on the Internet. I am most active on Facebook, though I get on other social networks to promote content. Google recently joined the Internet social network scene, but I have not understood most of it.
+1 Button
I have seen the +1 Button on websites and on the search results in Google. I figure it is a good thing like the “Like Button” on Facebook. It seems this is what it is supposed to be. People can push the +1 button on web pages and on search results to let others know that the page has good content. The Google +1 Button can also be embedded on web pages. There is a specific HTML code that can be used which is found on e-Moxie’s Google’s gone social page which is found listed in the sources and related links.
Social Plugin
Being that I use Google and Chrome, I’ve tried social plugins that are always showing and telling me to use them. However, I’m not exactly sure how they work, so I get confused. I understand that they are supposed to help track social networks and help to promote my social networks. However, I don’t know what this plugin exactly does.
I read that it is supposed to track social activities such as +1s, Facebook Likes, and Tweets. There are certain codes that are used for tracking Facebook Like and Tweets. Once again, these can be found on e-Moxie’s Google’s gone social page which is found listed in the sources and the related links.
Sharing on Google Plus
Sharing on Google Plus is no different than sharing on Facebook. All you have to do is be logged into your Google account and go to http://plus.google.com where a time line of your friends’ activities will show. You will have a text box at the top of your page. Paste a link that you want to share with others into that box and then press the button that says “Share.” The link will then be shared with your Google Plus friends.
