1) The first thing we need to do is make sure you have a blank CD and a burner, then we need to navigate to this site and download the freeware ISO file we need. http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/ Once you get to the page you need to scroll down to the download section and click the download that says cd110511.zip (~3MB) – Bootable CD image. Once it downloads, go to the file right click it and choose to extract all, once it extracts we will have the ISO we need.
2) Now we need to insert our CD into the tray and right click on the ISO file and select (burn disc image). Burn the CD, it wont take long at all because it is only 4.5 MB, once its finished we need to shutdown the computer via the Windows shutdown button. Its important that you shut the computer down properly and not hold down the power button. Now when you power your computer back up choose the boot options it will be in the lower portion of your boot screen, likely F12 but may be different. Choose to boot from CD device, and the software will boot up.
3) Once it boots it will display the boot options, but all you need to do is hit enter and it will begin the default boot. It will then display the partitions, the larger sized one will be the Windows partition, select the number and hit enter. It will then ask what the path to the registry is, just hit enter again, now it will give you a list of options. The one we need to select is number 1 password reset (SAM system security) and hit enter, then we want to select option 1 again that says (edit user data and passwords) and hit enter.
4) Now it will show you a list of users on the computer, just type the name of the user you wish to blank the password of. It is case sensitive so make sure its exact and hit enter, again were going to choose option 1 (clear (blank) user password) and push enter. It should say password cleared, now all we need to do is type exclamation mark (!) and hit enter. Now we choose (q) to quit and hit enter, it will then ask if you want to write the files to save the changes we made. Type (y) and hit enter, it will say edit complete, all you have to do now is reboot the computer and the password will no longer be there. Please don’t do anything other than what I’ve stated here with this software, it could cause major damage to your system if you play with the other options.
