How I Will Plan for Spring Break 2012

Spring break will be here in three months, and that means that many college students will pack their cars or check their bags into an airplane to hit the beach for a week of wild fun. My friend went to Panama City last year, and said he had a blast. So I’m planning to go with him this spring to see first hand what type of fun he was talking about. My friend said there were cute girls everywhere on the beach, parties bumping every night, and tons of girls just around the corner in his hotel – sounds like something I need to check out.

The only dilemma is I’m a broke college student, and I’m not even sure if I’ll be receiving a refund check next semester. Spring break can’t be too expensive since it is a bunch of college students who are just as, or somewhat as broke as I, but it does cost a good amount of money to have fun. There’s a gas cost for the six-hour drive to Panama City, a weeks pay for the hotel, food, parties, and of course much alcohol.

To assure I can have the best experience on Spring break, and not come back to college with empty pockets, I’m going to find a job, and save as much I can. I already have a job offer that pays $8.50 an hour. Since I’m in college, and I don’t want to work every hour that I’m out of class; lets say I work five hours for four days a week that’s $340 every two weeks. By time I take out my monthly necessities I’ll have $200 left. If I’m able to put $200 in my savings I’ll have $600 by March. That’ll be more than enough money since we have many people accompanying us. The divide for the hotel will be $130, and that’s the most important cost which is easily covered. Then food and parties which can be simply budgeted as long we don’t splurge on five star restaurants everyday.

I think my plan will work out great for my Spring break. If you are a college student, or under the age of thirty tell me what are your plans for Spring break 2012.
