The Lake City Greenway, located in Warsaw, Indiana is an eight-mile multi-use trail for bicycling, walking, jogging, running, and rollerblading. The Lake City Greenway connects the town of Warsaw and Winona lake with access to the amenities of the community; including the Village of Winona, Grace College, Winona Lake Park and Beach, downtown Warsaw, and several Warsaw city parks and the City-County Athletic Complex (CCAC).
The Lake City Greenway currently has three separate sections: Heritage Trail of Winona Lake, Chinworth Bridge Trail, and the Beyer Farm Trail. The Heritage Trail is 1.8-miles, begins at Winona Avenue, continuing through downtown Winona Lake, along Canal Street to Roy Street, and incorporates the area of the old Chicago Boys Club. Following Park Avenue; turning left onto Boys Club Road will bring you to the entrance of the Chicago Boys club Nature Trails, which allow for some of the best rated mountain biking, hiking, jogging, and nature viewing along the scenic Heritage Trail. The Beyer Farm Trail consists of a long boardwalk across the wetlands on the south shore of Pike Lake, with asphalt sections on both ends. The Chinworth Bridge Trail begins at the trailhead park on Old US 30, crossing over the historic Chinworth Bridge on the Tippecanoe River and continues onto Zimmer Road. The Chinworth Bridge Trailhead also has a canoe launch and picnic shelter available.
Pike Lake campground has a boat launch located within the campground, as well as a public beach. The Winona Lake boat launch is located on Smith Street as well as a picnic shelter area and a port-a-john available in the parking lot. Center Lake, located downtown Warsaw offers public swimming, boat launch, (Buffalo Street), picnic areas, upright charcoal cooking, childerns’ playground, and plenty of shade trees to enjoy a day at the lake. Warsaw, Indiana has plenty to offer in way of outdoor activities from water skiing, swimming, mountain biking, hiking, camping, and fishing all available within the city limits; providing easy access to supplies needed to enjoy your visit.
