Last night I looked up at the sky,
I saw a half moon and wondered why,
And where did the other half go?
I would really like to know.
The half moon was shining bright,
And the night was filled with light.
The stars were there to fill the sky,
But I still always wonder why.
The moon is small and then grows larger,
How does this work – does it need my charger?
It waxs and wanes and goes away.
For several dark and moon-less days.
I’d like to keep it near me all the time,
Even if there’s no sense or rhyme.
The full moon light is so bright.
I’d love to see it every night.
