The mission of The Food Bank of Greenwood County, SC is an emergency food pantry. They are able to provide a basic one-week grocery package to persons referred by local helping agencies. On average they service approximately 80-100 families per week. The Food Bank depend on the help of volunteers for many such as answering the thousands of telephone calls that come in each day; computer data entry and maintenance; picking up food and household supplies from various stores and warehouses as well as stocking the shelves. Beyond The Walls Family Restoration Center (Greenwood, SC) is a faith based imitative created to service the Seaboard Community and other communities of Greenwood, SC. Their mission is to enable children and families to learn a holistic approach (biological, psychological, sociological and spiritual) towards wise decision making concerning social, academic and career choices. Volunteer services (physical and financial) are needed in all areas, i.e. mentors (both women and men), youth, family and community programs, community sports, lawn care, building repair etc… you name it … there is a volunteer opportunity available. Location: The Seaboard (R. L. Stevens) Recreation Center is currently under reconstruction and will house the new BTW Center. Kingdom Kids Day Care Center, located at 916 Phoenix Street, Greenwood, SC is a Christian oriented child care and learning facility licensed to care for children, including infants. Their mission is to provide affordable full day care for children not yet eligible for kindergarten as well as after school tutoring for children of all ages. Kingdom Kids normal hours are between 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. (EST). They also stride to assist parents with hectic or varied work schedules.
