Exercise Activities for Kids

Is your child driving you absolutely crazy? Looking for something to do to get rid of his insane amounts of energy? Well look no further. This article seeks to provide you with some exercises that are suitable for a child, none of that weight lifting stuff.

Jump Rope

A jump rope is a great exercising tool for a child; it forces them to work both their lower body by jumping and their upper body by controlling the rope. They won’t even recognize that they’re exercising because jumping rope is fun for many kids! If they get bored you simply need to provide them a challenge, tell them you don’t they can do this many jumps and watch them go attempt to prove you wrong.

Perhaps the most appealing feature of the jump rope is it’s so accessible and cheap. You can buy a jump rope at mostly any sports store because it’s used in professional training in many sports and it’s very cheap. The other giant plus to a jump rope is it’s easy to bring with you anywhere and your child can jump rope in any open space making it a perfect choice for getting your child to exercise.

Organized Sports

Organized sports are probably the best exercises for kids because they not only have the physical element, but they have a social element involving the other kids with teamwork and making friends. These activities include but are not limited to: basketball, baseball, soccer and even swimming.

Most of the above activities are more commonly referred too as cardio. This means they elevate your heart level and will build your child’s endurance and strength, but are often very tiring getting your child the needed exercise. It’s very important to note that many of these sports will require you to spend quite a bit of money buying your child the necessary equipment needed for these group sports.

Tag

This is a game that kids love to play in groups of three or more, and most importantly, it actually gets your kids on their feet and running. Tag is a great game because it doesn’t require any outside equipment and kids simply love to chase each other, they might be playing tag whether you tell them too or not! Recently tag has gotten some negative limelight because of injuries, but it’s no less dangerous than any contact activity for kids. Just instruct your kids not too push each other and this is a great way to get your kids some exercise!
