Evan Bourne Has Been Suspended 30 Days for Violating WWE’s Wellness Policy

On November 1, 2011, WWE announced that WWE Superstar Evan Bourne has been suspended 30 days for his first violation of WWE’s Wellnes Policy.

WWE released this statement:

“In accordance with its Talent Wellness Program, WWE has suspended Matthew Korklan (Evan Bourne) for 30 days effective immediately for his first violation of the company’s policy.”

Evan Bourne released a statement regarding his suspension:

Love you guys! I’ll be back in a flash. AirBoom will not be derailed!

Evan Bourne’s suspension was not expected because he recently met with WWE Officials at Monday’s Raw SuperShow on October 31, 2011. WWE Officials summoned Evan yesterday to discuss his recent violation of the Wellness Policy.

There has been talk that WWE employees were shocked that Air Boom didn’t lose their tag team titles on Raw last night. There was speculation that the duo will lose their titles at the Smackdown taping in Greenville, North Carolina. However, Air Boom wasn’t present at the Smackdown taping tonight. So they may hang on to those titles despite Evan Bourne’s suspenion being announced today. Don’t be surprised if Air Boom loses the titles real soon.

There have been recent reports that WWE’s suspensions have increased because WWE has cracked on the use of synthetic marijuana. Heath Slater, Darren Young, Evan Bourne, and Mike Choida and Andy Leavine have violated WWE’s Wellness Policy this year. However, the particular reasons on why they were suspended have not been disclosed to the public.
