Dancing with the Stars: Who Went Home, 10/25/2011

Broadway Week is over, and another celeb must face the chopping block. Was it Chaz, who was harshly ridiculed by Bruno? Or Hope, who had her worst dance according to Len? Read on to find out.

First Couple:

JR and Karina – Safe

So not surprised. He’s been wonderful the whole season, and really came alive last night during the Quickstep.

Kristin Chenoweth

Now this is filler I can live with. She was fantastic last night, and is just as good tonight.

Next Two Couples:

Nancy and Tristan – Safe

Ricki and Derek – Safe

No shock in Ricki’s case; she managed to come back from a disappointing week to deliver her best performance to date (which is saying a lot because I loved her tango.) Nancy is a bit more shocking, but only because the judges gave her such a mixed review.

Macy’s Stars of Dance featuring Corbin Blue

The boy can dance, there is no doubt about that, however his vocals were kind of a mixed bag for me. I really liked his “West Side Story” (though I’m more partial to Harry Shum Jr.’s version from Glee) and the number from “In the Heights,” but I felt he was a little off for the opening “Cabaret” number. Perhaps like Chaz and the Phantom, the character was just not suited for him.

Martina McBride

The song was just beautiful, as was the dancing with Val and Chelsie. On a side note, I love watching Val dance, but is it just me, or does he seem a bit too intense at times?

Final Two Couples:

David and Kym – Safe

Chaz and Lacey – In Jeopardy

As much as it breaks my heart, I’m not too surprised. The scores have been on the low end of the board more than once, and that has to catch up to the voter support at some point. I am hoping he pulls through for one more week, since I really do believe he is trying and I so want him to give a knock your socks off type of performance.

This is Halloween – Mark and Lacey featuring some talented kids

I thought the costumes were great, with the pros and kids doing a fantastic job. Kudos to Lacey for choreographing that number.

Next Two Couples:

Hope and Maks – In Jeopardy

Rob and Cheryl – Safe

I have to agree with Len on this one; her dance, although danced with heart, wasn’t that good. In fact, and forgive me for saying this, I honestly believe she really hasn’t been that good all season. I once compared her to Hines Ward, and I still stand by that comment, but unlike Hines, Hope doesn’t have that flair that makes up for the occasional flat footedness.

The Couple Going Home: Chaz and Lacey

I’m upset, but not totally shocked, though I would have picked Hope to go home over him. Despite it all, Chaz is an inspiration, and I hope people learn to stop hating so much on things they don’t understand. Oh, a man can dream, can’t he?

Best Tom Remark: “Damn, and I was gonna ask him for a raise.” His response to Maks’ “This is my show” comment.

What do you think? Did the right person go home?
