Should everyone get an H1N1 flu shot or only people at risk becau…?

The H1N1 virus is a novel strain, and it is unlikely that any of us has had any exposure to it. Consequently, the majority of people will have no defense against it if exposed. Therefore, most people should be vaccinated against it. However…

Why do people die from the swine flu?
Q: I understand that some people can die from the regular flu if they get a high fever or get dehydrated. Or Parvo (like the flu) in dogs only kills them because the cells split causing bloody diarrhea. So what is it about the swine flu that kills you, and can you get it from eating pork?(I have been reading about the swine flu online and cant find the answers to my questions.)
A: The World Health Organization (WHO) says properly handled and prepared pork products are safe to eat. The swine flu virus dies when cooked at temperatures of 70C or higher. The majority of people don’t die from the flu itself, it’s other problems caused by the flu, for example pneumonia or other secondary infections but I don’t know any more information than this.
Why Do You Need a Flu Vaccine For H1N1 When Your Immune System Can Develop Its Own Antigens?
Q: Plenty of recovered people have demonstrated that your immune system develops its own antigens against H1N1. It is not some kind of resistant superflu. Yet, the Centers for Disease Control suggests that most people in the public “should” get a vaccine for the flu? The only people who seem to truly “need” extra protection are the ones with seriously weakened immune systems, but that’s not what’s being suggested. Instead, there’s been a widespread campaign like never before to scare the public into believing everyone “should” get the flu vaccine because you need it. Why?resplinds: You say, “By being vaccinated, you will never get the virus in the first place.” Why are you lying to the public? The nasal spray contains live H1N1 virus (they call it “weakened” but it’s still the virus). On top of that, the injection usually causes flu-like symptoms including headaches, muscle aches, and fever, which can last for several days. Third, if your immune system goes down after you’ve gotten the flu because of lack of sleep, poor nutrition, not enough water, and other stress you can become symptomatic for the flu again. I think you miss the point. All this talk about a NEED for widespread vaccination is a lie if your body can (as has been demonstrated) develop its own antigens and you recover just fine.Johnny: You say, “with a vaccine you’ll get a tiny jab in the arm and be immune to flu.” That’s an inflated lie. First, your immune system is still what protects you, and the vaccine is only aiding your immune system for a certain strain. If mutation occurs the vaccine is less effective. On top of this, a person usually gets flu-like symptoms (they call them “side effects”) after being vaccinated. So, you don’t just get jabbed and now you’re “immune.” You can still get the flu in other ways.Johnny: It is a myth that people who get vaccinated for the flu are no longer carriers of the flu. You don’t “wipe out” the flu by having everyone vaccinated. You make it less likely people will get it, but people will still get it. It is well known that the flu vaccine is not 100% effective. This is type A influenza not polio! But guess what? If you have a healthy immune system your body wipes out H1N1 100% of the time. How do I know this? Because most people recover without getting a vaccine. My point is there’s no NEED for a vaccine. If you like to go to get unnecessary injections then knock yourself out!
A: It’s purely media sensationalism and hype. If the Swine flu was going to be a problem, it would have developed into a massive problem by now. So far, it’s killed far less than the seasonal flu. The swine flu, much like Global Warming is nothing more than media hype and panic. It’s the Y2K of the new millennium. I recently had a Dr’s appointment, he said I don’t need the vaccine, unless I’m so concerned to the point at which just getting the vaccine will ease my mind. If you are healthy, without compramised immune issues, then you don’t need it.
Why do we only get the chicken pox once but other viruses more than once?
Q: I know in rare cases, some people can get the chicken pox more than once, but for the vast majority it is only once. However viruses like the flu, and stuff can be caught multiple times… how is this?
A: The chicken pox virus doesn’t mutate as often or as quickly as the flu. Our bodies develop antibodies to ward off the virus if we’re exposed again to chicken pox.
