What Are The Odds Of Schools Closing Due To Swine Flu?
Q: I heard that if swine flu gets really bad, then schools will be closed down for a further month or so. Is this true? If so, how likely is it?In England by the way 🙂
A: The rates of people being diagnosed with swine flu are in decline at the moment. Schools may be forced to shut IF the virus returns in a more virulent form. There are no plans as yet to shut schools next month.
What are your views on the schools closing during the snowy weather?
Q: Has it caused you any inconvenience if your child’s school has been closed?xx
A: Ideally of course would prefer my son was at school rather than at home, but not at the cost of safety for all involved. I think its sensible and necessary that the school closes. Conditions on the roads around here are treacherous to say the least, and it would not help having all those parents driving their kids around in it. Aside from that, the teachers are only human; if they live more than a mile or two from the school where they work then they can’t be expected to get to work in these conditions any more than anyone else can really.
why is the schools closing the bathroom doors and being followed?
Q: what schools are doing this and why, it only has more children staying home.
A: As an ex-teacher, I can tell you that in our middle school in Oakland, we had to lock the bathrooms at times because students were smoking weed and selling drugs in there, writing graffiti, breaking toilet seats and leaving bathrooms in a complete mess plus using the bathrooms as a hideout while skipping classes and ganging up on kids to steal their money or gang related fights.I can imagine certain kids who have been in trouble and are likely to be so again could be followed around to keep them from bothering others and from destroying property and getting themselves deeper in trouble. Just like real life; if you get arrested a few times the police tend to keep track of you. If I was being followed around school by guards, I’d ask them why they were doing it and try to impress them that they don’t need to by my actions over a period of time. We had 3 guards roaming the halls and we still couldn’t keep kids from screwing things up. This is one reason I’m no longer a teacher – it’s just not worth the hassle. P.S. From the bewilderment of previous answers, you may understand the need to learn to write well and to do that you might try paying attention in your English class, doing your homework and practice writing every chance you get. If yo want to really improve, visit your teacher after school and ask for his or her help to improve your writing. They’ll love you for it.
