Q: I wake up at 5:30 am every morning to go to work that starts at 7:30am (I live far away). I got 7 hours of sleep last night. Anyway, woke up and went to take a shower (I had a really hard time waking up, I felt more swamped than usual). I had a bad headache that lasted about a minute and a half when I got into the bathroom. Then I started to feel a bit dizzy and then this huge flash of heat engulfed me. I got really dizzy, it was hard to breathe, nauseas was present, my head was pulsing, my vision was blurry and starred, and it felt like my skin was on fire… every little touch hurt. I thought this would pass but it didn’t… so I sat on the bathroom floor just in case I would pass out. The next thing I know, I can’t see anything, I feel like my eyes are open, but I can’t see, my hearing gives out too (tunnel hearing I guess it’s called) and then I feel nothing, what seems like a few seconds, was probably longer. My vision starts to return and I find myself laying on the bathroom floor. I slowly sit up… I’m super sweaty, I have the shakes, I’m still burning, I feel really dry in the mouth and nose, but most of all… my stomach feels like it’s gonna explode into my throat… so I go to throw up in the toilet… but I had nothing in my system to throw up… if I did… I would have thrown up… I eventually got up and called in sick and went back to bed for 2 more hours before forcing myself awake. Which was hard… cause I still felt really tired. Over all I felt much better… but throughout the day… I was just downright sore all over… my temp felt off… I was cold hot cold hot… and the burning skin is still present. I’ve been drinking a lot of water… but I still feel dehydrated. I had the same burning and soreness on Wed too… but I didn’t pass out or anything… it just hurt to breathe.1. I am on antibiotics for UTI (Sulfamethoxazole)2. I get around 6-7 hours of sleep every night3. I eat breakfast, sometimes lunch, and usually a dinner of some sort4. I am 185. My BMI is 20.76. I’m on Birth Control7. I took a dose of NyQuil the night before for the same soreness, burning sensation, and headache (I also had a runny nose and cold like symptoms)8. Only a week before the UTI… I had Acute Bronchitis and was on different antibiotics for that (they didn’t give me this much trouble).9. I have been stressing lately over college work10. 4 people told me that I should try to eat more vitamins11. I had my period 3 weeks agoWhat do you think this could be? Obviously I should tell my doctor… but could this be something serious? Or just a little faze? Something similar happened to me back in high school… that time I was on Antibiotics for strep throat..
A: I’m with “L”. Get thy butt to a doctor. You may be having a reaction to the Sulfamethoxazole, you may have just come down with a whangbanger case of the flu, or you may have something else going on.

Q: in mother arms in clearly a panic mode!(at this point it is very apparent to me if we don’t get out now one of us might just pass out! Then we may never make it out!) I then mustared up the strenght to get up out of bed, dazed/weak and in extreme pain, I went to grab the baby from the mother and felt I was in no condition to be running with her (pretty dazed -in case I pass out) so, I placed her in her back in her mother’s arms and we made an Emergency evacuation!!! in seek for immediate medical attention for (my main concern) our baby! and then ourselfs! As soon as we made it out our door and opened it took 2 steps and BAM!! we were surrounded by 3-4 nurse’s (was thinking good, help right here so we should be ok now.) (@ this point it’s now 1:35am) I immediately stated’ “my baby turned purple!!” “my baby needs help!!” “We need help??” “my head, my eye’s my nose and throat are on fire!!!” “please, my baby needs help??!!” “there’s something killing us in that room!!” “We called 3 times and now we are in need immediate medical attention!” “We now need a ER!!” “Our baby needs a ER!” “my fiance needs a ER!” “WE ALL NEED HELP!!” “My baby needs help!!” “what is wrong with you?” “why do I have to keep repeating myself and still my voice is unheard?!!!” “My baby’s not ok!” “Stop telling me she is!” “look! I’m not ok! so, I know she’s not ok!” “if you can’t help I want an abulance then?!” “I demand ER!” “why can’t we go to your ER??!!I” “we demand going to HARBORVIEW’S ER then! if you can’t help us” “We demand to go home!!!!!!” “your saying diesel exhaust is ok for a baby to breathe?!!!” “are you crazy lady!!” “Are you stupid!!” “why am I fighting with you for help when we needed it 10 minutes ago and clearly I’m in no condition to even be arguing with you for help!!” “No! I would not like a fan!” “I’m not going back in that room!!” “We don’t need counter offer’s we need an ER!!!” “We need immediate medical attention!!! what part of that don’t you people understand!!!” “what do I have to do to get it? fall to the ground and start kicking like my baby was???” “I’m telling you I’m not ok so, I know my baby definitely is not ok!!!” “No, we don’t want another room!! what is wrong with you people??!!” “this is an emergency here we need help, is that not clear??!!!” “I don’t care if this has happened before or not!! I’m telling you my symptoms and we need help!!” “We demand a ER now! not 10 min’s not 20 NOW!!!!” “what kind of exhaust were we sujected too?” “what kind of fuel the generators run on?” they were not all in that order but pretty close. I was dazed “mind you” and in need of medical. in the mist of me stating all that they were stating,”your baby’s fine don’t worry” “you should just go back in the room and we’ll put a fan in there” “what would you like us to do?” “would you like a fan?” “would you like another room 1 door over?” “would you like a room down the hall” “don’t worry it’s ok for baby’s to breathe exhaust” “patiant’s policy, no patiant can use their ER” “No you can’t leave with the baby because, it’s not in the baby’s best intrest for her to leave this hospital” “if you try to leave with the baby’s the alarm will go off” ” “I don’t know what kind of fuel the generator runs on” the alarm which was the only thing holding us from leaving this hospital to seek proper medical treatment on our baby’s right leg!! (it goes off it you cut it,or if you walk to close to an exit! thus locking all exits) WOW!!! UNREAL!!! I didn’t feel like we were in America! yeah! a bit dazed tho.. I still couldn’t believe my ears after 15 minutes of asking, begging and demanding medical attention or release/discharge us to seek medical attention, when clearly I was in no condition to argue with anyone for any reason! and time is key to reduce the risk of any damage @ this point, our situation, went from bad to worse, one would only assume after an Emergency situation like this you go out seek help ok, proper procedure/treatment taken you’ll be fine, heal and go home. I really can’t believe anything that’s happening to us tonight. our babys under high stress from the deadly toxin’s in her body! I’m not only mad now but still need of medical attention and I’m being forced to demand it!(and never received it) while barely having enough breath to even evacuate the room that caused all this. I’m also getting stressed! I need help, our baby needs help, and the mother needs help !! we were getting absolutely no help from them!! in the mist of me fighting for medical treatment or release outside our door 1013. one of them started to pack belonging’s off to another room.(the whole time they were trying to talk us into staying and insisting everythings ok. when I knew it wasn’t and am telling them it wasn’t) then never checked out the baby or us they try to confirm baby’s good health while never taking her from the mother) not only that they didn’t even know what kind of exhaust we were exposed too.) So, the baby’s mother felt forced to f
A: First, TMI (Too Much Information). There are very, very few people here that will read the entire story of yours, myself included. I started reading it, but only got through half of the first part before I gave up. You do not need to include every single little detail to have people tell you to get a lawyer.Second, get a lawyer. He/she is the one that needs all this detail to determine if you have a case or not (as I said, I didn’t read the entire thing, but I don’t know why else you would be posting such a story here if you are not looking to sue them.
Interested in your opinion (Very long. My apologies.)?
Q: This is the introduction to a short story I’ve written. It’s a slightly different style than what I usually write. More formal than my typical casual contemporary voice. It’s called “Runespell.”The water was freezing cold, weighing down her body, turning her muscles to ice, her blood to slush. And so dark. The headlights of her car were invisible now, broken perhaps, or just too deep for her to see.*I’m sorry.* She didn’t know for what, she was just sorry. Guilt for things unsaid, deeds unforgiven, obstacles unconquered.A final rush of pain stiffened her limbs, and she fought against it, arching her neck, staring up as the last glimmer of moonlight on the surface was blocked by a large shape.Something, a hand, reached out to her and she took it, her arm floating up as she sank further into the cold darkness. The hand was warm, and soft, and huge. It tugged her toward itself, also warm and soft and huge. And then she was gone.*~* She wasn’t breathing. He lifted a hand to bang on her chest, shock air back into her lungs, and realized what he was. As the bear, the blow meant to give her life would likely kill her. He had to change first. The magic was painful. Part of the curse. He knew and accepted the pain, let it wash through him until he huddled, as cold as the woman before him, shuddering. He leaned over her, tilted her neck back, pinched her nose, opened her mouth and gave her his breath. Over and over, he breathed for her. Over and over, he pumped the heels of his hands between her breasts. He began to despair. His sacrifice, his efforts had been for nothing.Until she breathed. Choked, sputtered, murky water gushed from her mouth and her nose and he turned her to her side, helping her rid herself of the river. Her eyelids fluttered up and he couldn’t move away, couldn’t hide himself, found himself not wanting to hide from her. Her lips were pale blue and wet, but they lifted at him. For him. She smiled and whispered. He bent closer to hear her words. “Thank you.” And her eyelids fell again. No matter. She breathed. She lived. He put his arms under her and lifted. Unlike the fairy tales, she was not weightless as down, but a moderately sized woman. Had he been at his full strength, had he been warm and dry at least, he could have carried her back to his home with little effort. But he had spent his energy in the river, and more in the transformation. So he gave the last of his human fortitude in a final change. Now she felt light to him, as light as a kitten in the arms of a giant. He settled her on his back, careful to balance her so she would not slip and injure herself again. Then he turned his face toward the north and began his journey. Before he left, he looked again toward the river, toward the bridge that spanned it. He watched the men who had chased her car over the edge. They did not see him.~*~Mai opened her eyes to darkness so complete she thought she must be dead. She certainly hurt enough. She tried to frown, but the movement sent sharp pain through her lips. Then she gasped from the pain and her lips ripped open, layering in more hurt. She was burning up, and her mouth tasted as if it was filled with grave dust and blood.“Oh God,” she groaned. “I’m in hell.”“Not quite.” The voice next to her made her jump. Well, it would have been a jump if she was capable of that much movement. As she was, however, it was more like a full-body twitch.“Stay still,” the voice said. “You’ve been injured.”That explained a lot of things. She thought she must be in shock because her voice sounded far away when she asked, “Am I blind?”“No. It’s dark in here.” The voice hesitated. “It’s for the best.”Without warning, numbness collapsed into terror. She choked on a breath of fear and fire exploded in her chest and throat. Strong arms, sleek with fur, propped her up as she struggled for air. She coughed and couldn’t stop, each breath tearing through her chest like the thorns of a bramble. Mai clutched at him, afraid of what she held, afraid of letting go, until she could finally breathe again.“You’re fine. You’re not seriously hurt. Don’t be afraid.”She gulped, nodding convulsively while tears flooded down her face. A soft cloth fluttered by her cheek and she took it, wiping away the worst of the fear. “Where am I? What happened?” Her voice was a shredded whisper.“Don’t you remember?” He sat so close she felt his breath, clean and earthy. The sound of his voice reverberated through her body like a heavy bass thrum, synchronizing the beat of her heart to his.Mai closed her eyes to block out the darkness of her surroundings and search through the shadows in her memory. She remembered.“My car. They ran me off the bridge.” She had a moment’s regret for her car. She’d finally gotten the seat just where she liked it. But more important issues intruded. “Eda’s runestone. Where is it?” She drew away from the warmth heSorry! I couldn’t tell how many words I had left. This is a free read I have on my website. Just a little exercise I did between stories once.Honestly, I’ve been reading people’s comments on here and it started to mess with my head! I know everyone won’t like it, but I’m glad some of you do. Thank you.
A: I thought of Beauty and the Beast when his first change occurred. How the Beast is embarrassed of what he is though he desperately sacrifices himself and sets aside his insecurities by letting Beauty into his world. This Bear of a man has rescued Mia. He gives of his strength and then is too insecure to allow her to see him as he is when he has expended all he is to save her and assure her safety.I love the bit of humor dropped in there about getting the seat just right. I think sometimes as a protective measure women’s minds think of the most mundane things in order to keep perspective and retain their sanity. Then Eda’s runestone. I hope it holds some type of magic and perhaps can help the Bear to be human if he so chooses or just the magic of the two bringing the stone to life. Don’t know what is going to happen but it already seems like a bit of mystery and hope. The details bring the reader right into the scene and at the same time are so gently woven in that the story seems brilliantly colored.
