Pain after stomach flu?

Q: I’m 45 and not over weight. I had what the doctors and I thought was the stomach flu back around dec 15th. After the stomach flu I had very sharp stabbing pains for over a week whenever I twisted, turned or tried to cough. The pain was in my mid right side. Since then the pain has went away. But then a constant milder pain in my prostate and/or bladder developed and does not seem to want to go away. It gets more painful towards evening. I’ve been having to take pain killers every night for the past month. I wake up in the middle of the night with sharp pain like I have to pass a very big stool, but its not, it can be just like a rabbit size stool. But it seems to cause alot of pain. I also have been waking up with a feeling I have urinate. I do urinate frequently when I get up at night but its not very much, maybe 8 ounces or so. It seems like its my bladder that hurts when I pee. I haven’t seen any blood in my stools or urine. The urine is kind of on the dark side but I think it is from taking alot of vitamins like saw palmetto for prostate health. I started taking to see if it will help ease the pain. The saw palmetto did seem to help, but not much with the bladder/prostate pain. It surprised me by seemingly completely stopping my dizzy spells that I have been dealing with for the last year. Does anybody on here have any experience with this type of problem and what is your best guess as to what is wrong with me? I do talk to doctors about it, but sometimes they can be totally worthless unless they truly deep inside really want to help. I don’t believe most really do. Most just want the money and not the problem. If your a moral good person then no good deed goes unpunished so to speak. If doctors and the leaders of society can’t take you then your just simply screwed so to speak. Just the way it is;) I’m just looking for all and any opinions? A: I think you are over reacting and worrying too much. I don’t believe you have swine flu and if you do get it will no doubt recover like all the rest of the people who have had it.Its no worse that the flu that gets around every winter.

Q: hello all 1st i would like to say thank u for reading my post and trying to help me. i know its a lil long sorry but I am trying to be detailed so that u could understandMy jobs attendance policy: we do not have sick time we have “pto” which is paid time off , we are only allowed to have 2 excused absenses a yr , other than that all other call out are considered unexcused, if you leave early it’s considered ½ occurance, if you come in ONE hr or more late its considered ½ occurance. after your 2nd occurance of “unexcused absense” u get a verbal. After the 4th you get a written , after ur 6th you get final , the 7th u get termination. if u call out on Monday its considered double occurance and if u come in late its considered 1 occuranceok now that u know the policy here is the issue. in march/09 of this yr i got really sick with a flu , i went to work cause i did not want to call out , as the day progressed i felt worse and asked my supv at the time if i could leave, he said it was fine , i went to hospital , got a dr’s note.. i was then out sick for 4 days. i was feeling horrible so i went to my primary physician who also gave me another note. so i go back to work , and gave him 2 notes, he said its fine but it will only excuse 2 days so 2 of the days were considered “unexcused” then in may/09 my aunt, who lives in north carolina was assaulted , she was beaten on her head with a bat , stabbed several times , i mean its a miracle she is alive, she is also my god mother which i care very deeply for so of course i went to north carolina from NY with my mom , she had no family over there , and even worse , her son had been killed in sept/08 by the same jerks that later went and assaulted her. so i ended up leaving work at 3 on a friday, ( i mean isnt this an emergency!!) i got back from North Carolina on that monday like at 8 in the morning , and i had to be at work at 9 , so I called in late. Everythin was fine my supv at the time just spoke to me I explained the situation , and he understood and said it was fine. suddenly in sept I get a new supv (when the trouble begins!!) I am going crazy!!, I am like her personal assist, she puts me to do her tasks if she is overwhelmed, she is completely incompetent , she asks me to proof read her e-mails. She will scream out to ask how a word is spelled. Please take note that I am not a secretary I am a member services rep for a HUGE health insurance company. She will scream at me to ask about an assignment when I already e-mailed her the answer before . I feel like she picks on me. She has a really bad habit of poking me when she wants my attention , and when I say poking I mean like it hurts. In late sept I got a stomach flu and was out 2 days ( came with doc note but since I used my 2 excused it does not matter) So in october she request a meetng , and says that she has to give me a verbal and a written warning at the same time , because I was supposed to get one before but in may . I mean this is ridiculous , first can she write me up and give me a verbal at the same time , arent they supposed to be separate? Now in december 1 day there was major back up in the lincoln tunnel , I got to work 48 minutes late , of course I called her and told her what was going on I even got to work and showed her on the transit website an article about the delay. Then 2 weeks later, my sister’s husband had an anxiety attack and she had to run to the hospital like @ 5 in the morn, she asked if I could stay with her 9month old and her 3yr old. So I came into work an hr and a half late. Now today my supv gives me a final warning , the day of the accident and the other day added up to 1 occurance. Can I fight this? In the policy it says that if your are ONE hour or more late it is considered half occurance, sorry for being technical but the day of the traffic delay I came in 48 mins late not 60 mins which will equal an hr. I also want to know how do I go about having a different supv, cuz I am going to go crazy because of this lady , I am nervous at work , I sit at my desk and cry, I am stressed I was never like this before. The only time I am ok at work is when she is not there, and now she put me on final. Other than these “ occurances” I come to work 20 mins early everyday, I answer all calls courteous all work that is assigned is done quickly and efficiently , I submit all projects on times, my grades on my calls are 97 and above, I don’t think this is right! I want to fight it!! Its like saying ur not allowed to get sick , nor have emergencies. Please any advise would be appreciated it!!

A: Every state has its own labor laws and I do not know where you are located. But in California employers cannot let you go or write you up because you are ill especially because you came in with doctors notes, and as for family emergencies family leave is a right. They don’t have to pay your time off but they cannot let you go or permanently replace you either. I recommend you contact the Department of Labor and speak to a representative there who could help you determine if it is legal for them to write you up for for being ill and taking family leave.
