- Q: In my Junior year, right before school was out for summer, I fell for a girl (Tiffany). I asked her out the last week of school and never really got an answer. I'm a shy person and most of the time I wouldn't tallk to someone unless someone came to me or I knew them. I went through summer thinking of her from time to time, but never seeing or talking to her. When school started back up in August, I was a little depressed about starting my Senior year. I was told by my mom that she had gotten cancer, she told me and my brothers at the time that it was one of the easiest to cure so there was nothing to worry about. I went into school feeling like my year was going to stink. The third day into school she asked me to go to church her. At the time, I'm thinking I'll get to spend more time with her and maybe something will come out of it. As time passed, I grew more into the Church and through her I became a Christian. We hung out for the next few months, then in November I got up the nerve to ask her out. She said she wasn't wanting anything more right now other then friends. I backed off a little then. She was big into basketball, it was her favorite sport. Now in our Senior year it was going to be her last time to get to play in High School. At first I decided I wanted to take pictures at her games and make a slide show for her, then I decided to film games and make a video. She had games from November to February. I thought about asking her to Prom at the end of the video because it would be about that time of year. Christmas pasted and as February neared, my mom went back into the Hospital. She was diagnosed with 2 weeks to live. This was around February the 7th, 2008. My birthday was February the 5th and the last basketball game was February the 6th. She came home for the Hospital on February the 10th and on that night as my Dad was trying to get her out of her Wheelchair she said "She can't." My Dad just told her to hang onto him and he will lift her. The next day after school, I went into work when my Dad called me and told me I need to come home. When I got home, she was dead. This was the 11th. That night, my Youth Minster and Tiffany took me out to eat. After returning home, my Youth minster left, and me and Tiffany sat around and talked for an hour or so. I had completed editing the video the Saturday before, when I taped me asking her to prom and my mom was about to see it then. I was undecided on how i Wanted to give her the vidoe, I finally decided to show it Wednesday after church. I went and picked up a rose, and had some clothes ready to change into. April 12th was Prom night and we went and hung out and it was fun. A lot had changed in me though since my mom's passing. We went back to her house before After Prom so she could change into some more sporty gear, and while she was doing that I was in her Livingroom, as I looked around I saw a picture of her and her mom and I just broke down. I was able to pull myself together before she came back but the rest of the night I was just down and couldn't smile about anything. She kept asking what was wrong but I didn't want to tell her, she had told me before she doesn't really know what to do in this situation, so I try to keep her away from it. We ended the night early the next morning after leaving Ihop.I finished the last couple of months of school, on Graduation we hung out a little but after that we didn't talk for a bit.
