i just went in a tanning bed for my first time…?
Q: i just went in a tanning bed at my apartments for the first time, (free tanning so why not) and she said to go in there no longer than 15 minutes but i read answers here, and people said if its your first time go for 5-8 minutes. and thats what i did…but it just felt like i was laying down doing nothing at all. are they supposed to be hot? maybe im just really ignornat cause when i think of tanning i think of the sun burning your skin and making you hot..but i was just fine in these beds….does that mean its not working, or what?i dont look any darker, but i know from your first time you wont look darker anyway…how many times a week should i go?
A: could be a junky tanning bed….i know i sweat when i tan cuz the bed gets hot…and you should have some color…especially on your butt because you lay like directly above the uv bulbsi would say next time go longer and if nothing happens than yell at the girl with the bed
Tanning bed? Girls only?
Q: I got a week free at a tanning place and figured I could go to get a tan before prom so I don’t have any lines. The woman said most people go in naked, which I always have worn at least swim suit bottoms before but I took her advice.. I put lotion all over my body except my a r s e, as I’m not used to putting it there lol. i woke up this morning and it was red and hurts a bit. Do you think it will be fine for when I go again tomorrow? I was only in the bed for 7 minutes and plan to go in that long again tomorrow.
A: Well I have always gone naked but you can wear a swim suit if you don’t mind the tan lines. You should always put lotion everywhere. The only place I don’t always put it is my face. A lot of the lotions have some sort of spf protection which your skin needs and the lotion may also have moisturizing properties. I knew a guy one that worked at a tanning place and actually recommended that I tan again while I was still red to help the hurting go away. I would not recommend the towel but if you are concerned about the burnt spot then I would say you should try to put sun block with a higher spf on that area only to prevent it from burning further.
Acne while pregnant… Help!!!?
Q: Okay, so I haven’t always had the clearest skin… But, when I went to the dermatologist, he actually laughed at me for coming in! I have tried antibiotics and such from there and what seems like every over-the-counter product you can buy – nothing helps! Now that I’m pregnant it seems like it’s getting worse and I’m sure it’s probably the hormone aspect, but is there anything I can do?! Has anyone else ever had this problem and found something that helped? I read somewhere that some Dr’s tell you to sit a few times a week with just your face near a tanning bed with a fan on you to prevent overheating and it helps clear it up… But, I thought tanning beds were a huge NO-NO during pregnancy? If anyone has any suggestions – please feel free to tell me what you have tried and your results with it! Thanks!!!
A: I have the same problem. I was hoping it would clear up before my baby shower…but it doesn’t look like it will. I use Proactive 2 times a day, but it still hasn’t cleared anything up. I was getting treatment at the dermatologist before this; and everything was going great. They did a special heat-electricity thing directly on my breakouts and it cleared them up within days. I was also on a prescription lotion that worked really well for me. You can ask if there is one that is safe during pregnancy. I haven’t had the time to return to the dermatologist since I got pregnant.
