My Image 10.6Q treadmill stopped working and is displaying the error code “E21” what is wrong with it?

Q: I have an Image 10.6 Q treadmill and it had no problems till now. The last time i went to use it, I got an error message E21 and it would not work. The user manual says to call the company when there are errors like this but they do not return my calls. I cannot find anything on the internet about the treadmill error codes and what they mean. The unit is at least 5 years old and never had a problem.

Q: First, thanks for your time:-)The thing is ：My university opened a new gym in January, and that’s when I started running on these new treadmills made by “xx” company.This model of treadmill has a color screen in front of the runner that shows workout information and a simulated image of running tracks.I have been running 5-10kms regularly (approx 3 times a week) on these machines ever since January (the gym opens). And compare to the white wall in front of me, I found the color screen more interesting to look at. Since this screen is set to be at lower than my eye level (I’m 176mm), so I automatically adjust my position while running to look @ it constantly.Now Im facing a permanent cervical spine damage due to this bad habit.（my chiropractor agrees with this statement）This damage brings horrible symptoms such as insomnia, tinnitus (ringing sound in my ears), neck/back/shoulder pains, excessive fatigue（the worst)I believe what I did (looking @ the screen) was out of human nature. I also believe the screen was set @ a lower level is a product failure. Giving that there’s no instructions or warning signs on these treadmills for such issue, is it reasonable for me to sue this company to get compensation for this damage? Giving the large size of the treadmill manufacturer, there must be other runners who will face the same problem. I also think I should do this to help eliminate the potential damage on other people.Now, what do you think?Thank you for your answer!

A: I think I would do a little more research before going straight to suing.Maybe post a sign at the gym asking if anyone else is having problems due to this treadmill. Locate other gyms where this treadmill is being used and post the same sign there. {you can locate them by calling gyms in your phone book and asking weather they offer the same treadmill.} If you locate even 4 more people, it is either a class A or E lawsuit. {can’t remember which} But you only need 5 people total. Also, is this a new type of treadmill or has it been around a long while? Everyone has a different stance while running or even walking and to hold the treadmill Co. responsible for the way you are holding yourself or what you are looking at while running just doesn’t seem right. If others are having the same probs you would have a lot better chance of getting some compensation. Good luck.

Q: We bought a 9.17HRO smoothfitness t.m. and when we have it running at (?) 2.5–3.0 mph–which is basically walking, we have to run pretty hard. The techies at the company sau we just aren’t familiar with treadmills. I am a retired teacher/track and cross country coach and ex-competitive runner.jimI should clarify that I just don’t understand how the pace/speed of the belt makes us run at a good clip (seems like what I would do at about 7+ mph, when it shows 3 mph on the readout. ) Is it the difference of the stride? The tech said that the belt checks out at 25 revolutions at 2.5mph. I argued that when I have to run briskly on the tm at that pace, it’s not walking.

A: If you just bought it this should be a warranty issue. They should have someone come out and fix it.There should be a sensor that knows how many revolutions one of the wheels that the belt is attached to and that is how it determines the speed. There should also be a computer board inside that has a spot for a screw driver to fit into that is used to adjust the speed. These things should be down somewhere near the belt probably near the front.
