A: Variety of exercise is the key I have found. For example..an exercise called Mountain Climbers. Its from a workout that also contains a section for females and males which is excellent.Mountain climbers are done by starting in a pushup positionand then shuffling your feet in and out so that your knees aremoving in under your chest and then back out to startingposition. It sort of resembles climbing a mountain but flat onthe floor. If you want an advanced version, you can also shuffle your hands 8-10 inches forward and backward inaddition to the leg movements. This really makes it a fullbody exercise and MUCH more difficult than standard mountain climbers. After finishing each exercise, rest about 30 seconds beforestarting the next exercise. Rest about 1-2 minutes aftercompleting each “tri-set” before repeating. This will give you one of the best ab workouts you’ve ever hadwithout even doing any direct ab exercises. You’ll see what Imean after you try it!Once you get away from the myth that a 1000 crunches and 500 situps a day is all you need to do for great abs, then amazing results can be seen. There is a completely free 65 page ebook about exercise, nutrition, abs and stomaches in particular at http://www.projext.co.uk that you can download (no catch!) and it is excellent. It helped me greatly.
How do I build up my chest without using weights? How about my abs, what are good workouts to get a six pack?
Q: I have no money for a gym membership and want to begin working out. What are some good exercises to work on my chest/arms/abs? How many sets, reps etc?
A: OK, so this is what you need to do. Old school push-ups is perhaps one of the most effective ways to work your chest, arms, and shoulder muscles all the same time, with no equipment needed, and you can do it anywhere. Once you condition your body to be able to do around 15 to 20 push ups at speed, then you’re going to want to start making things more challenging, and you can do this by elevating your feet off the ground. By doing this you’ll be increasing the resistance because you’re working against gravity. So then, it becomes harder to do, but you’ll work your muscles even more. Of course, you’re not going to look like the world’s strongest man doing this routine, but I’m telling you now you will see a rapid improvement in overall muscle tone in your arms, shoulders and chest. Don’t worry about working your abs specifically for now, focus on cutting down your level of bodyfat first, because so long as you’ve got a layer of fat on your stomach, you won’t be seeing your abs anytime soon no matter how many crunches you do. Good luck
