A: Hey good question! I was about 17 when I started lifting and I did some research and found out its good to give your muscles a days rest in between workouts. The exact routine I started out on can be seen at the website below. Check it out, it will help you. If not, Click on some links there to find what you want. The website has a lot of info. Squatting is a very good workout as long as your doing it right. On the downward motion make sure your thighs go level don't stop before that and go back up. Your butt should stick clear out there. Don't be shy. You should be able to set a plate on your lap! On the upward motion pick a spot on the ceiling straight above you and look up at it and squeeze your butt and thighs NOT your back. Your back muscles will be used a little but your butt and thighs should burn. Keep your back straight the whole time! Do not bend it!Hope this helps! Check out the website.
