- A: Well i do know that if a person is starving, your body will immediately start to preserve the fat in your body to give it some kind of natural food source. Once the fat starts to run out, your body will start to get proteins and vitamins out of your muscles, therefore the body is basically eating at it's own muscles. When the body has taken too many proteins out of it's muscles the body will of course begin to weaken, and soon die.

Muscle is more dense than fat that is why when you build muscle from your stored fat you actually get thinner but can maintain the same weight. It all depends on your metabolism as to how fast or slow you burn fat.
