WWE Superstar Injured at Survivor Series

WWE Superstar Sin Cara suffered an injury when he jumped from the ring during the 5-ON-5 Traditional Survivor Series Tag Team Match. His injury was so severe forcing him to be eliminated from the Match because he could no longer compete.

The day after Survivor Series, WWE Doctor Michael Sampson announced that “Sin Cara suffered a patella tendon rupture”. According to Sampson, Sin Cara will need surgery followed by six to nine months of rehabilitation.

Sin Cara debuted on March 25th, 2011, less than four months later he was suspended 30 days for violating the WWE’s Wellness Policy. The WWE gave Sin Cara more than 30 days away from the ring as he did no return until the SmackDown tapings on September 16 th , 2011. Just over two months later Sin Cara suffered his patella tendon rupture. Injuries are part of the business but Sin Cara’s patella tendon rupture could lead to him being wished the best on future endeavors. Sin Cara’s injury will keep him out of the ring for at least six months. Meaning he will not make his return until May of 2012. That will push Sin Cara well passed his one year with the WWE.

During that one year, Sin Cara only competed for six months. That has to make the WWE very upset. Look back at what happened to former WWE Superstar Mr. Kennedy. Kennedy debuted on August 25 th , 2005. In December of 2005, he suffered a latisimus dorsi injury causing him to miss six months of action. Kennedy suffered another injury in May of 2007. It was believed that Kennedy tore his right tricep muscle off the bone. After further evaluation it turned out to be a hematoma. Kennedy only missed a few weeks instead of seven months. Unfortunately for Kennedy, he was suspended in September of 2007 for violating the WWE’s Wellness Policy. After returning in October of 2007, Kennedy did not suffer another injury until June of 2008 when he dislocated his shoulder. This injury kept Kennedy out of action until May of 2009. Four days after returning Kennedy was released from the WWE.

Sin Cara may not suffer the same fate as Kennedy but he has not made a good showing thus far. The only thing that could save Sin Cara is his merchandise sales. If Sin Cara’s merchandise continues to sell while he is away the WWE might consider keeping him around longer; However, if Sin Cara violates the Wellness Policy for a second time or suffers another injury shortly after returning, he like Mr. Kennedy could be on the verge of being released.
