I won’t spend more than $100 on any type of exercise equipment (including workout videos) and I flip through the channels that show any type of exercise equipment hype without blinking an eye. Why pay $1200 for a Total Gym when you can get similar equipment for a fraction of the cost? Yes, you can get cheap exercise equipment that you’ll actually use, you just need to know where to find it.
Don’t pay for any workout videos- ever. Why? Because you can get free workout videos online. Simply type in ‘free workout videos’ in your search engine and you’ll get hooked up in seconds with websites with free video clips you can follow in a variety of workout styles. From yoga to pilates to kickboxing- you can get these videos for free. Free is always good.
Exercise equipment is almost always a wasted investment when you buy new. The second that equipment gets out of the box it has lost its new value, and most exercise equipment is priced based upon hype rather than performance to begin with. What does this mean? Don’t ever buy your exercise equipment new- not when you can buy it used for a tiny fraction of the original cost.
Most people who are selling exercise equipment are doing so not because they upgraded, it’s because they never or hardly ever used that treadmill, Nordic Trac, stairstepper, etc to begin with. This means they just want to get their wasted effort (and dollars) out of their sight whether they make money or not.
You can scoop up these wasted investments at Craigslist.com, thrift stores, and in the local newspaper. You can get a $500 treadmill for $50 or less, and enjoy it all you want. Someone else’s workout loss is totally your gain. Simply look in the fitness sections of any local advertisment or online ads, and you can find exercise equipment in great condition so cheap you can afford to buy a few different types of exercise equipement to maximize your workout health.
