New York City was lighted up by the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show with all the glitz, beautiful models, dazzling designs, and performances that took place at the Lexington Avenue Armory. It was a night of fashion and music colliding together, Kanye West, Jay Z, Maroon 5 and Nicki Minaj shared the stage with the Victoria’s Secret models. The show was televised on CBS on Nov 29. Everyone who wasn’t there had to be there to see all of Victoria’s Secrets creations showcase feminine lingerie on VS models flaunting down the runway. It was an exciting time for these young and daring models as they got to dress up, get makeup and hair done, were sexy and had a lot of fun.
The Victoria’s Secret fashion show was seen by 10.3 million viewers and aired in more than 90 countries. The Victoria’s Secret models wore stunning lingerie pieces, accessorized with Angel, mermaid, ballerina and superhero wings with ballet laced shoes, high-heels and thigh-high boots. So what did the models wear? Constance Jablonski wore a beaded gown with a feather mermaid hemline; Karlie Kloss wore a corset-style bodysuit covered in tropical colored beads; Alessandra Ambrosio wore a leather harness, push-up bra, thigh-high leather boots and a long flowing cape splashed with the word “incredible” in cartoon letters. Lindsay Ellingson wore heels in a leather bodysuit paired with silver wings; Erin Heatherton wore latex bodice and silver-dagger, weapon like wings; Chanel Iman wore a pink tutu and neon wings; Adriana Lima wore violet lingerie set trimmed with lace and raven-colored wings; Candice Swanepoel wore a white skirt, lacy blouse and golden wings and Anne Vyalitsyna wore a push-up bra covered with a crystal-encrusted body overlay, beaded gown with a feather mermaid hemline.” There are electronic wings, there are things that light up and have remote controls, but luckily mine are butterfly wings that are very easy to walk in,” says Lily Aldridge.
The Australian model Miranda Kerr was the shining star of the show wearing one of Victoria’s Secret $2.5 million diamond bra called the “Fantasy Treasure Bra” a delicate blue that matched with the tiny thong decorated with a bow. Orlando Bloom was front and center with all smiles watching his wife Miranda, who recently just gave birth to son Flynn. Kerr looking absolutely trim, stated “I do yoga. That’s something I consistently do as well as Pilates. So I’ve been doing that for the past six months. But I’ve been doing more squats because you gotta get that body up. You really can’t hide anything when you’re up there on that runway when you’ve got cameras coming at you from every angle.” The night was full of surprises when Kayne West stunned the audience when he made his appearance to perform his hit “Stronger” and dedicated his song to his mother. “I lost my super hero, and now she’s my super angel.” West was to appear on the show in 2007 but had canceled after the sudden death of his mother Donda West. Adam Levine wore a gray tank top, black suit pants, and ankle boots walking down the runway with his Victoria Angel girlfriend Anne Vyalitsyna, planting her a kiss on the cheek and strutted singing “Moves Like Jagger.”
What were both rappers wearing? Kayne wore a Versace jacket and black leather pants with a low-slung gold belt and Jay-Z wore a black hoodie with black jeans while both were on stage. Beyoncé sat in the front row enjoying the show. Like the models, Nicki Minaj stood out in her bright orange bustier, cosmic-print skirt and leggings, and her pink wig as she closed the show with “Super Bass.” You can count on Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show being the most luxurious event of the year.
