Valentine Moon – II – A Poem

You are the pillow that cushions my face.
I am the touch that soothes your cheek.
We are floating leaves falling on still waters.

You are the willow that shades my grief.
I am the tears that give your gift meaning.
We are sunshine in the rain.

You are misery trapped in a cold rain.
I am the fireside that warms your pain.
We are shadows in a flickering light.

You are the tempest that storms my nights.
I am the hearth that bids you welcome.
We are passion soaring.

You are the soldier, tough, then tender.
I am the vanquished, a flaming surrender.
We are the afterglow of strife.

You are the bard who sings my song.
I am the poet who paints your words.
We are tempestuous harmony.
