Treating Cellulite with Aroma Therapy

Cellulite is a term used to describe pockets of fat that are trapped beneath the skin and cause a dimpling appearance to the skin. Cellulite is more common in women than it is in men but it can affect both sexes. About 90% of women will develop cellulite at some point during their life. The most common areas of the body that are affected by cellulite are the thighs, buttocks and the abdomen. Quite often cellulite is mistaken for obesity even though it is not obesity because cellulite even affects really lean women.

Cellulite develops in subcutaneous layer of fat that is located beneath the dermis and epidermis. This subcutaneous layer of fat is different from the other layers because its fatty parts are structured into chambers by strains that are linked to the tissue around it. These chambers are what trap the fat and create the cellulite pockets.

There are a few factors that play a role in the formation of cellulite such as hormonal changes which include puberty, pregnancy and menopause. The two layers underneath the subcutaneous layer are reserve fat layers that dissolve into a slack network. The genetic makeup of a person helps to predict their fat storage and metabolism in these layers which are predisposed by diet, exercise and lifestyle.

These two layers have no responsibility in the formation of cellulite in a person’s body. The formation of cellulite is caused by physiological changes in the subcutaneous layer of fat. A well balanced diet and plenty of regular exercise does not always stop or reserve the formation of cellulite although it does help. The appearance of cellulite will get worse of time if you have an unhealthy diet, poor nutrition, weight gain and lack of water intake.

Also with age there comes a loss of thickness and tone of the connective tissue in the superficial layer of fat and the dermis. Flaccid cellulite is the result which is very unfortunate and noticeable. There are a great many products on the market today that claim to reduce or even completely get rid of cellulite and unfortunately most of these products do not do as they claim too.

It is very easy for a person to be sucked into buying a product that can be very expensive because it claims to get rid of cellulite and most women who have cellulite will be willing to pay any amount of money to get rid of it. Thankfully there are easier and cheaper ways to reduce or clear up cellulite with some essential home remedies. Remember you should maintain a healthy diet and exercise regularly along with the use of any of the following essential oil formulas.

Choose one of the following formulas and mix these essential oils together well then add to a tub of warm water. Get in the tub and relax for at least 15 minutes.

Note: These are formulas that I have created and worked with over the years. Be sure to wear gloves when working with essential oils in their pure state and they should always be diluted with a carrier oil. Test a small path of skin with a tiny bit of the formula to make sure that you do not experience an allergic reaction before you use it on a large area of skin. No liability can be taken by me!
